你们要定一个禁食的日子，举行庄严的聚会，召集全国的长老和人民，到你们的上帝耶和华的殿中，向耶和华呼求。

约沙法很害怕，决定寻求耶和华，在整个犹大宣告禁食。

我便禁食，身披麻衣，头蒙灰尘，向主上帝祷告祈求。

谁都无需再教导他的邻居和弟兄，说，‘你要认识耶和华’，因为他们无论尊卑都必认识我。我要赦免他们的过犯，忘掉他们的罪恶。这是耶和华说的。”

加利亚的儿子约哈难、何沙雅的儿子耶撒尼亚和其他将领及各阶层的民众前来，

犹大王约西亚的儿子约雅敬执政第五年九月，耶路撒冷和犹大各城的人都在耶和华面前宣告禁食。

所以请各位放心，我深信上帝所说的话必然会成就。

信心是对盼望的事有把握，对还没看见的事很确定。

无论贵贱，众人都听从他，称他为“上帝的大能者”。
