這人在別人面前歌唱說：「我犯了罪，屈枉了正直，卻沒有受該得的報應。上帝贖救了我的性命免過去到冥坑；我的生命見到亮光。」

我真地聽見以法蓮在為自己悲歎着說：「你督責了我，我便受督責，像訓練未馴的牛犢一樣；使我返回哦，我便得以返回，因為你是永恆主我的上帝。我被擄以後，就真地後悔；我受教責以後，就拍腿悔恨；我因擔當年幼時的恥辱，而抱愧蒙羞。」永恆主發神諭說：以法蓮是我的寶貝兒子麼？是個可喜悅的孩子麼？因為我每逢說了話譴責他，我總還是依依懷念着他。我的心腸熱戀着他；我一定要憐憫他。

你們要撕裂的是心，倒不是衣服。』要回歸永恆主你們的上帝；因為他有恩惠有憐憫，他不輕易發怒，而有豐盛的堅愛，他並且能改變心意、不降災禍。

當審判的時候、尼尼微人必和這一代一同復起，定它的罪；因為他們因了約拿所宣傳的就悔改了；但你看，有比約拿大的在這裏呢！

就起來，直向他父親那裏走。還離得遠的時候，他父親看見，就動了憐憫的心，跑去撲在他的脖子上，熱切地和他親嘴。

他就禱告永恆主說：『哦永恆主啊，我還在我本地的時候、不就這樣說了麼？故此我才急速逃往他施啊；因為我知道你是有恩惠有憐憫的上帝，不輕易發怒，而有豐盛的堅愛，並且能改變心意不降所說的災禍。
