To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, Lord my God, brought my life up from the pit.

看哪，我受大苦，本為使我得平安；你因愛我的靈魂便救我脫離敗壞的坑，因為你將我一切的罪扔在你的背後。

大山未曾奠定，小山未有之先，我已生出。耶和華還沒有創造大地和田野，並世上的土質，我已生出。他立高天，我在那裏；他在淵面的周圍，劃出圓圈。上使穹蒼堅硬，下使淵源穩固，為滄海定出界限，使水不越過他的命令，立定大地的根基。

因為你必不將我的靈魂撇在陰間，也不叫你的聖者見朽壞。

誰曾用手心量諸水，用手虎口量蒼天，用升斗盛大地的塵土，用秤稱山嶺，用天平平岡陵呢？

神啊，你必使惡人下入滅亡的坑；流人血、行詭詐的人必活不到半世，但我要倚靠你。

諸山升上，諸谷沉下，歸你為它所安定之地。

耶和華啊，求你速速應允我！我心神耗盡！不要向我掩面，免得我像那些下坑的人一樣。

他既以大能束腰，就用力量安定諸山，

神就給他開恩，說：救贖他免得下坑；我已經得了贖價。

神已經向我們這作兒女的應驗，叫耶穌復活了。正如詩篇第二篇上記着說：你是我的兒子，我今日生你。論到神叫他從死裏復活，不再歸於朽壞，就這樣說：我必將所應許大衛那聖潔、可靠的恩典賜給你們。又有一篇上說：你必不叫你的聖者見朽壞。「大衛在世的時候遵行了神的旨意，就睡了，歸到他祖宗那裏，已見朽壞；惟獨神所復活的，他並未見朽壞。

我被害流血，下到坑中，有甚麼益處呢？塵土豈能稱讚你，傳說你的誠實嗎？

我立大地根基的時候，你在哪裏呢？你若有聰明，只管說吧！你若曉得就說，是誰定地的尺度？是誰把準繩拉在其上？地的根基安置在何處？地的角石是誰安放的？那時，晨星一同歌唱；神的眾子也都歡呼。海水衝出，如出胎胞，那時誰將它關閉呢？是我用雲彩當海的衣服，用幽暗當包裹它的布，為它定界限，又安門和閂，說：你只可到這裏，不可越過；你狂傲的浪要到此止住。

因為在我怒中有火燒起，直燒到極深的陰間，把地和地的出產盡都焚燒，山的根基也燒着了。

他站立，量了大地，觀看，趕散萬民。永久的山崩裂；長存的嶺塌陷；他的作為與古時一樣。

你用深水遮蓋地面，猶如衣裳；諸水高過山嶺。

山嶺見你，無不戰懼；大水氾濫過去，深淵發聲，洶湧翻騰。

神救贖我的靈魂免入深坑；我的生命也必見光。
