To the roots of the mountains I sank down; the earth beneath barred me in forever. But you, Lord my God, brought my life up from the pit.

耶和華啊，你從陰間把我救出，沒有讓我落入墳墓。

其實我受大苦對我有益。你施慈愛，從死亡的深坑中拯救我的生命，將我一切罪惡拋在你背後。

大山未曾奠定，小丘未曾形成，我已經出生。那時耶和華還沒有造大地和原野，還沒有造一粒塵土。祂鋪設諸天的時候，我已在場。祂在深淵上畫出地平線，上使穹蒼堅固，下使深淵的泉源安穩，設定滄海的界限，使海水不得越過祂定的範圍，為大地奠定根基的時候，

你不會把我的靈魂撇在陰間，也不會讓你的聖者身體朽壞。

誰曾用手心量海水？誰曾用手掌度蒼天？誰曾用升斗盛大地的塵土？誰曾用秤稱高山，用天平稱丘陵？

上帝啊，你必把惡人送進滅亡的坑裡。嗜血成性的騙子必早早夭亡。但我要信靠你。

漫過山巒，流進山谷，歸到你指定的地方。

耶和華啊，求你快快應允我！我已絕望，求你不要掩面不顧我，不然我必和下墳墓的人無異。

你充滿力量，以大能創造群山，

上帝就會憐憫他，說，『別讓他下墳墓，我已得到他的贖金。』

祂藉著使耶穌復活已為我們做子孫的成就了。正如詩篇第二篇所說，『你是我的兒子，我今日成為你父親。』聖經曾這樣記載上帝使祂從死裡復活、永不朽壞的事，『我必將應許大衛的聖潔、可靠的恩福賜給你們。』又在詩篇上說，『你必不讓你的聖者身體朽壞。』「大衛在世時遵行上帝的旨意，最後死了，葬在他祖先那裡，肉身也朽壞了。然而，上帝使之復活的那位卻沒有朽壞。

「耶和華啊，我被毀滅、落入墳墓有何益處？我歸於塵土，還能讚美你、宣揚你的信實嗎？

「我立大地根基的時候，你在哪裡？你若那麼聰明，請告訴我。你可知道誰為大地定的尺寸？誰用準繩把它丈量？是什麼支撐大地的根基？誰為它安放的基石？當時晨星齊聲歌唱，眾天使都發出歡呼。「大海從母胎奔騰而出時，誰為它劃定界限？是我為大海披上雲彩，為它裹上厚厚的幽暗。是我為它劃定界限，並安上門和閂，說，『你到此為止，不可越界；你狂傲的波濤要停在這裡。』

我的怒火已經點燃，要燒到陰間的盡頭，吞滅大地及其出產，甚至燒毀山的根基。

祂停下，大地就震動；祂觀看，萬民就戰慄。古老的山嶽崩裂，遠古的丘陵塌陷，但祂的作為永遠不變。

你以深水為衣覆蓋大地，淹沒群山。

群山看見你就戰慄，大雨傾盆，深淵翻騰，波浪滔天。

祂救贖我的靈魂，使之免下深坑，使我的生命得見光明。』
