You threw me into the ocean depths, and I sank down to the heart of the sea. The mighty waters engulfed me; I was buried beneath your wild and stormy waves.

我被丢在死人中，好像被杀的人躺在坟墓里，不再被你记得，与你的手隔绝了。你把我放在极深的地府里，在黑暗地，在深处。你的愤怒重压我身，你用一切的波浪困住我。（细拉）你把我所认识的人隔在远处，使我为他们所憎恶；我被拘禁，不能出来。

他对他们说：“你们把我抬起来，抛进海里，海就会平静了；我知道你们遭遇这大风浪是因我的缘故。”然而那些人竭力划桨，想要把船靠回陆地，却是不能；因风浪越来越大，扑向他们。于是他们求告耶和华说：“耶和华啊，求求你不要因这人的性命使我们灭亡，不要使流无辜人血的罪归给我们；因为你—耶和华随自己的旨意行事。”他们把约拿抬起来，抛进海里，海的狂浪就平息了。那些人就大大惧怕耶和华，向耶和华献祭许愿。
