Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the fish’s belly.

Then Jonah prayed unto Jehovah his God out of the fish’s belly.

Then Jonah prayed unto the LORD his God out of the fish’s belly,

Jonah prayed to the LORD his God from the stomach of the fish

Then Jonah prayed to Yahweh, his God, out of the fish’s belly.

They tried to end my life in a pit and threw stones at me;the waters closed over my head, and I thought I was about to perish.I called on your name, Lord, from the depths of the pit.You heard my plea:“ Do not close your ears to my cry for relief.”

Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord;Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.

Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him; I will surely defend my ways to his face.

He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

So the Lord brought against them the army commanders of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh prisoner, put a hook in his nose, bound him with bronze shackles and took him to Babylon.In his distress he sought the favor of the Lord his God and humbled himself greatly before the God of his ancestors.And when he prayed to him, the Lord was moved by his entreaty and listened to his plea; so he brought him back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.

Lord, they came to you in their distress; when you disciplined them, they could barely whisper a prayer.
