有些人乘船在汪洋大海上經商，他們看見了耶和華的作為，看見了祂在深海所行的奇事。祂一聲令下，狂風大作，巨浪滔天。他們的船隻忽而被拋向半空，忽而落入深淵，他們嚇得面無人色，東倒西歪，如同醉漢，束手無策。於是，他們在患難中呼求耶和華，耶和華便拯救他們脫離困境。祂使狂風止息，海浪平靜。他們因風平浪靜而歡喜，祂帶領他們到所嚮往的港灣。他們當稱謝耶和華的慈愛，稱謝祂為世人所行的奇事。

看啊，那位造山又造風，向人顯明祂的心意，將黎明變為黑暗，將群山踩在腳下的——祂的名字是萬軍之上帝耶和華。

忽然，湖面上狂風大作，波濤洶湧，船快要被巨浪吞沒，耶穌卻在睡覺。門徒連忙叫醒耶穌，說：「主啊，救命！我們快淹死了！」耶穌答道：「你們信心太小了，為什麼害怕呢？」於是祂起來斥責風和浪，風浪就完全平靜了。門徒很驚奇，說：「祂究竟是什麼人？連風浪都聽祂的！」

祂使雲霧從地極上升，發出電光，帶來雨水，從祂的倉庫帶出風來。

耶和華颳起一陣風，把鵪鶉從海面颳到營地四周，達一米之厚，方圓數公里。

你叫風一吹，海水就淹沒他們，他們好像鉛塊一樣沉沒在怒海中。

摩西向海伸出手，耶和華便整夜用強勁的東風吹退海水，將海底變成乾地。海水分開後，

那時，南風徐徐吹來，他們以為可以按計劃繼續航行，於是起錨沿著克里特行進。可是出發不久，便遇到從島上颳來的猛烈的東北風，船被颳得失去控制，我們只好任船隨風漂流。船沿著一個叫高達的小島的背風面前進，大家好不容易才控制住救生船。水手把救生船拉上甲板後，又用繩索加固船身。因為怕船會在賽耳底擱淺，於是收起船帆，任船漂流。第二天，風浪依然猛烈，他們開始把貨物拋進海裡。第三天，他們又親手把船上的用具也拋掉了。一連好幾天都看不到太陽、星辰，風浪肆虐，我們完全放棄了得救的指望。

摩西就向埃及伸杖。耶和華使東風在埃及境內颳了整整一天一夜，到早晨，東風帶來了蝗蟲。

耶和華就把風向倒轉，變成猛烈的西風，把蝗蟲颳走，吹進紅海。埃及境內一隻蝗蟲也沒留下。
