耶和華啊，大水揚起，大水發聲，大水澎湃。耶和華在高處大有威力，勝過諸水的響聲，洋海的大浪。

王卻把愛亞的女兒利斯巴為掃羅所生的兩個兒子亞摩尼和米非波設，以及掃羅的女兒米拉為米何拉人巴西萊兒子亞得列所生的五個兒子交在基遍人的手裏。基遍人在耶和華面前把他們懸掛在山上，這七人就一起死了。他們被殺的時候正是收割的頭幾天，就是開始收割大麥的時候。

約書亞和以色列眾人把謝拉的曾孫亞干和那銀子、那件外袍、那條金子，以及亞干的兒女、牛、驢、羊、帳棚，和他所有的，都帶着上到亞割谷去。約書亞說：「你為甚麼給我們招惹災禍呢？今日耶和華必使你遭受災禍。」於是以色列眾人用石頭打死他，用火焚燒他們，把石頭扔在其上。眾人在亞干身上堆了一大堆石頭，直存到今日。於是耶和華轉意，不發他的烈怒。因此，那地方名叫亞割谷，直到今日。

耶穌說：「你們這些小信的人哪，為甚麼膽怯呢？」於是他起來，斥責風和海，風和海就大大平靜了。

使諸海的響聲和其中波浪的響聲，並萬民的喧嘩，都平靜了。
