是日也、昏暗晦冥、密雲深厚、有一族至、既大且強、勢若晨光布於山上、自古迄今、未有若此者、歷至萬世亦無之、

是日晦冥、幽深玄遠、異族將至、既強且眾、有若黎明、豁然開朗、自古迄今、至於後世、未有若是之甚、

為幽暗晦冥之日、密雲黑雲之日、異族將至、既強且眾、勢若晨光、鋪於山巔、自古以來、未有若是者、斯後及於世世、亦必無有若是者、

a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was in ancient times nor ever will be in ages to come.

That day will be dark and sad. It will be black and cloudy. A huge army of locusts is coming. They will spread across the mountains like the sun when it rises. There has never been an army like it. And there will never be another for all time to come.

It is a day of darkness and gloom, a day of thick clouds and deep blackness. Suddenly, like dawn spreading across the mountains, a great and mighty army appears. Nothing like it has been seen before or will ever be seen again.

For a nation has come up against my land, powerful and beyond number; its teeth are lions’ teeth, and it has the fangs of a lioness.

I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the hopper, the destroyer, and the cutter, my great army, which I sent among you.

Woe to you who desire the day of the Lord! Why would you have the day of the Lord? It is darkness, and not light,as if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him, or went into the house and leaned his hand against the wall, and a serpent bit him.Is not the day of the Lord darkness, and not light, and gloom with no brightness in it?

The great day of the Lord is near, near and hastening fast; the sound of the day of the Lord is bitter; the mighty man cries aloud there.A day of wrath is that day, a day of distress and anguish, a day of ruin and devastation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness,

The earth quakes before them; the heavens tremble. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.The Lord utters his voice before his army, for his camp is exceedingly great; he who executes his word is powerful. For the day of the Lord is great and very awesome; who can endure it?

As with the rumbling of chariots, they leap on the tops of the mountains, like the crackling of a flame of fire devouring the stubble, like a powerful army drawn up for battle.

The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the great and awesome day of the Lord comes.

and they shall fill your houses and the houses of all your servants and of all the Egyptians, as neither your fathers nor your grandfathers have seen, from the day they came on earth to this day.’” Then he turned and went out from Pharaoh.

And they will look to the earth, but behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish. And they will be thrust into thick darkness.

He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us and against our rulers who ruled us, by bringing upon us a great calamity. For under the whole heaven there has not been done anything like what has been done against Jerusalem.

He says in his heart,“ I shall not be moved; throughout all generations I shall not meet adversity.”

The locusts came up over all the land of Egypt and settled on the whole country of Egypt, such a dense swarm of locusts as had never been before, nor ever will be again.

Hear this, you elders; give ear, all inhabitants of the land! Has such a thing happened in your days, or in the days of your fathers?Tell your children of it, and let your children tell their children, and their children to another generation.

Multitudes, multitudes, in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.

Remember the days of old; consider the years of many generations; ask your father, and he will show you, your elders, and they will tell you.

The people stood far off, while Moses drew near to the thick darkness where God was.

For behold, he who forms the mountains and creates the wind, and declares to man what is his thought, who makes the morning darkness, and treads on the heights of the earth— the Lord, the God of hosts, is his name!

For you have not come to what may be touched, a blazing fire and darkness and gloom and a tempest

Clouds and thick darkness are all around him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

They will growl over it on that day, like the growling of the sea. And if one looks to the land, behold, darkness and distress; and the light is darkened by its clouds.

For in those days there will be such tribulation as has not been from the beginning of the creation that God created until now, and never will be.

Give glory to the Lord your God before he brings darkness, before your feet stumble on the twilight mountains, and while you look for light he turns it into gloom and makes it deep darkness.
