是日晦冥、幽深玄遠、異族將至、既強且眾、有若黎明、豁然開朗、自古迄今、至於後世、未有若是之甚、

為幽暗晦冥之日、密雲黑雲之日、異族將至、既強且眾、勢若晨光、鋪於山巔、自古以來、未有若是者、斯後及於世世、亦必無有若是者、

a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness. Like dawn spreading across the mountains a large and mighty army comes, such as never was in ancient times nor ever will be in ages to come.

That day will be dark and sad. It will be black and cloudy. A huge army of locusts is coming. They will spread across the mountains like the sun when it rises. There has never been an army like it. And there will never be another for all time to come.

耶和華之大日伊邇、既近且速、耶和華之日有聲、勇士慘然號哭、是日乃震怒之日、急難困苦之日、毀滅淒涼之日、幽暗晦冥之日、密雲深黑之日、

其至也、地震天動、日月晦冥、星辰斂曜、耶和華發聲於其軍前、其營甚大、行其命者甚強、耶和華之日大而可畏、孰能當之、

躍於山巔、其聲若車轟轟、若火焚草芥之聲、若強民列陳以戰、

日將變暗、月將變血、在耶和華大而可畏之日未至之前、

斯時也、護衛爾民之大君米迦勒將興、亦有大難、自有國以來、迄於是日、未之有也、其時爾民之中、凡名錄於册者、必蒙拯救、

為海之狂波、沫噴其辱、為流蕩之星、而幽暗冥冥、永留以待、

爾之宮庭、及羣臣之第宅、埃及人之家室、咸充斥之、自爾祖父高曾在世、以迄於今、未之見也、摩西返身而退、

仰觀於上、俯視於地、無非患難昏黑、及痛苦之幽暗、必被驅入晦冥矣、

彼對我儕、及鞫我之士師所言者、今則成之、而降大災於我、耶路撒冷所遘之災、天下未嘗遭焉、

意謂我躬不致動搖、累世不經挫折、

蝗至埃及、止於四境、其災甚厲、若斯之蝗、先世後世、未之有也、

耆老歟、爾其聽此、斯土居民歟、爾其傾耳、當爾之日、或爾列祖之日、有此事乎、當以之告爾子、爾子告厥子、厥子告於後代、

羣眾羣眾、在於斷定谷、耶和華在斷定谷之日伊邇矣、日月晦冥、星辰斂曜、

追憶往古之日、思念歷代之年、問於爾父、彼必示爾、詢諸長老、彼必告爾、

民仍遙立、摩西進於上帝所居晦冥之處、○

彼造山創風、以人之意念示人、變清晨為昏暗、履於地之高處、萬軍之上帝耶和華、乃其名也、

夫爾非至可捫火炎之山、及幽冥、昏暗、暴風、

密雲黑暗環之、仁義公平、為其位之基兮、

是日也、敵向之咆哮、若海濤澎湃、人望其地、則見幽暗艱苦、其光晦於密雲、

蓋是時將有災難、自上帝造物之始、以迄於今、未嘗如此、後亦無之、

幽暗未至、爾足未躓於晦冥之山、所望之光、未變為死亡之陰翳、深沈之昏黑以先、當歸榮於爾上帝耶和華、
