Let the priests, the ministers of Yahweh, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say,“ Spare your people, Yahweh, and don’t give your heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples,‘ Where is their God?’”

Let the priests, who minister before the Lord, weep between the portico and the altar. Let them say,“ Spare your people, Lord. Do not make your inheritance an object of scorn, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples,‘ Where is their God?’”

Let the priests who serve the Lord weep. Let them cry between the temple porch and the altar. Let them say,“ Lord, spare your people. Don’t let others make fun of them. Don’t let the nations laugh at them. Don’t let them tease your people and say,‘ Where is their God?’ ”

Between the vestibule and the altar let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep and say,“ Spare your people, O Lord, and make not your heritage a reproach, a byword among the nations. Why should they say among the peoples,‘ Where is their God?’”

Let the priests, who minister in the Lord’s presence, stand and weep between the entry room to the Temple and the altar. Let them pray,“ Spare your people, Lord! Don’t let your special possession become an object of mockery. Don’t let them become a joke for unbelieving foreigners who say,‘ Has the God of Israel left them?’”

Let the priests, the LORD’s ministers, weep between the portico and the altar. Let them say,“ Have pity on your people, LORD, and do not make your inheritance a disgrace, an object of scorn among the nations. Why should it be said among the peoples,‘ Where is their God?’”

Let the priests, the Lord’s ministers, Weep between the porch and the altar, And let them say,“ Spare Your people, Lord, And do not make Your inheritance a disgrace, With the nations jeering at them. Why should those among the peoples say,‘ Where is their God?’ ”

Let the priests, the ministers of Jehovah, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Jehovah, and give not thy heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the peoples, Where is their God?

Let the priests, the Lord’s ministers, weep between the portico and the altar. Let them say:“ Have pity on Your people, Lord, and do not make Your inheritance a disgrace, an object of scorn among the nations. Why should it be said among the peoples,‘ Where is their God?’”

Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where[ is] their God?

Let the priests, those who serve the LORD, weep from the vestibule all the way back to the altar. Let them say,“ Have pity, O LORD, on your people; please do not turn over your inheritance to be mocked, to become a proverb among the nations. Why should it be said among the peoples,“ Where is their God?”

He brought me into the inner court of Yahweh’s house; and I saw at the door of Yahweh’s temple, between the porch and the altar, there were about twenty- five men, with their backs toward Yahweh’s temple, and their faces toward the east. They were worshiping the sun toward the east.

Why should the nations say,“ Where is their God?” Let it be known among the nations, before our eyes, that vengeance for your servants’ blood is being poured out.

Why should the nations say,“ Where is their God, now?”

They will tell it to the inhabitants of this land. They have heard that you Yahweh are among this people; for you Yahweh are seen face to face, and your cloud stands over them, and you go before them, in a pillar of cloud by day, and in a pillar of fire by night.Now if you killed this people as one man, then the nations which have heard the fame of you will speak, saying,‘ Because Yahweh was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.’

As with a sword in my bones, my adversaries reproach me, while they continually ask me,“ Where is your God?”

How long, God, shall the adversary reproach? Shall the enemy blaspheme your name forever?

Now therefore, Yahweh our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are Yahweh, even you only.”

Then my enemy will see it, and shame will cover her who said to me, where is Yahweh your God? Then my enemy will see me and will cover her shame. Now she will be trodden down like the mire of the streets.

He said,“ If now I have found favor in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go among us, even though this is a stiff- necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

Then I said,“ Lord Yahweh, stop, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small.”

Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to Yahweh on Yahweh’s altar, which he had built before the porch,

When they finished eating the grass of the land, then I said,“ Lord Yahweh, forgive, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small.”

The porch in front of the temple of the house had a length of twenty cubits, which was along the width of the house. Ten cubits was its width in front of the house.

The meal offering and the drink offering are cut off from Yahweh’s house. The priests, Yahweh’s ministers, mourn.

that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zachariah son of Barachiah, whom you killed between the sanctuary and the altar.

therefore, you mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh: The Lord Yahweh says to the mountains and to the hills, to the watercourses and to the valleys, to the desolate wastes and to the cities that are forsaken, which have become a prey and derision to the residue of the nations that are all around;therefore the Lord Yahweh says:“ Surely in the fire of my jealousy I have spoken against the residue of the nations, and against all Edom, that have appointed my land to themselves for a possession with the joy of all their heart, with despite of soul, to cast it out for a prey.”’Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel, and tell the mountains, the hills, the watercourses and the valleys,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my wrath, because you have borne the shame of the nations.”Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:“ I have sworn,‘ Surely the nations that are around you will bear their shame.’

O Yahweh, why do you make us wander from your ways, and harden our heart from your fear? Return for your servants’ sake, the tribes of your inheritance.Your holy people possessed it but a little while. Our adversaries have trodden down your sanctuary.We have become like those over whom you never ruled, like those who were not called by your name.

Moses begged Yahweh his God, and said,“ Yahweh, why does your wrath burn hot against your people, that you have brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a mighty hand?Why should the Egyptians talk, saying,‘ He brought them out for evil, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the surface of the earth?’ Turn from your fierce wrath, and turn away from this evil against your people.Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, your servants, to whom you swore by your own self, and said to them,‘ I will multiply your offspring as the stars of the sky, and all this land that I have spoken of I will give to your offspring, and they shall inherit it forever.’”

With which your enemies have mocked, Yahweh, with which they have mocked the footsteps of your anointed one.

then I will pluck them up by the roots out of my land which I have given them; and this house, which I have made holy for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

Take words with you, and return to Yahweh. Tell him,“ Forgive all our sins, and accept that which is good: so we offer our lips like bulls.

My God, turn your ear, and hear. Open your eyes, and see our desolations, and the city which is called by your name; for we do not present our petitions before you for our righteousness, but for your great mercies’ sake.Lord, hear. Lord, forgive. Lord, listen and do. Don’t defer, for your own sake, my God, because your city and your people are called by your name.”

then I will cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and I will cast this house, which I have made holy for my name, out of my sight; and Israel will be a proverb and a byword among all peoples.

Remember this, that the enemy has mocked you, Yahweh. Foolish people have blasphemed your name.Don’t deliver the soul of your dove to wild beasts. Don’t forget the life of your poor forever.Honor your covenant, for haunts of violence fill the dark places of the earth.Don’t let the oppressed return ashamed. Let the poor and needy praise your name.Arise, God! Plead your own cause. Remember how the foolish man mocks you all day.Don’t forget the voice of your adversaries. The tumult of those who rise up against you ascends continually.

You make us turn back from the adversary. Those who hate us take plunder for themselves.You have made us like sheep for food, and have scattered us among the nations.You sell your people for nothing, and have gained nothing from their sale.You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and a derision to those who are around us.You make us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.

You will become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword among all the peoples where Yahweh will lead you away.

My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually ask me,“ Where is your God?”

But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them, in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.

Don’t be furious, Yahweh. Don’t remember iniquity forever. Look and see, we beg you, we are all your people.Your holy cities have become a wilderness. Zion has become a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation.Our holy and our beautiful house where our fathers praised you is burned with fire. All our pleasant places are laid waste.Will you hold yourself back for these things, Yahweh? Will you keep silent and punish us very severely?

were it not that I feared the provocation of the enemy, lest their adversaries should judge wrongly, lest they should say,‘ Our hand is exalted, Yahweh has not done all this.’”

“ Now, please entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious to us. With this, will he accept any of you?” says Yahweh of Armies.

All who pass by the way rob him. He has become a reproach to his neighbors.

We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scoffing and derision to those who are around us.

Put on sackcloth and mourn, you priests! Wail, you ministers of the altar. Come, lie all night in sackcloth, you ministers of my God, for the meal offering and the drink offering are withheld from your God’s house.

He trusts in God. Let God deliver him now, if he wants him; for he said,‘ I am the Son of God.’”

I looked, and behold, you had sinned against Yahweh your God. You had made yourselves a molded calf. You had quickly turned away from the way which Yahweh had commanded you.I took hold of the two tablets, and threw them out of my two hands, and broke them before your eyes.I fell down before Yahweh, as at the first, forty days and forty nights. I neither ate bread nor drank water, because of all your sin which you sinned, in doing that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, to provoke him to anger.For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure with which Yahweh was angry against you to destroy you. But Yahweh listened to me that time also.Yahweh was angry enough with Aaron to destroy him. I prayed for Aaron also at the same time.I took your sin, the calf which you had made, and burned it with fire, and crushed it, grinding it very small, until it was as fine as dust. I threw its dust into the brook that descended out of the mountain.At Taberah, at Massah, and at Kibroth Hattaavah you provoked Yahweh to wrath.When Yahweh sent you from Kadesh Barnea, saying,“ Go up and possess the land which I have given you,” you rebelled against the commandment of Yahweh your God, and you didn’t believe him or listen to his voice.You have been rebellious against Yahweh from the day that I knew you.So I fell down before Yahweh the forty days and forty nights that I fell down, because Yahweh had said he would destroy you.I prayed to Yahweh, and said,“ Lord Yahweh, don’t destroy your people and your inheritance that you have redeemed through your greatness, that you have brought out of Egypt with a mighty hand.Remember your servants, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Don’t look at the stubbornness of this people, nor at their wickedness, nor at their sin,lest the land you brought us out from say,‘ Because Yahweh was not able to bring them into the land which he promised to them, and because he hated them, he has brought them out to kill them in the wilderness.’Yet they are your people and your inheritance, which you brought out by your great power and by your outstretched arm.”

“ Behold, we are servants today, and as for the land that you gave to our fathers to eat its fruit and its good, behold, we are servants in it.
