Gather the people, consecrate the assembly; bring together the elders, gather the children, those nursing at the breast. Let the bridegroom leave his room and the bride her chamber.

Bring them together. Set all of them apart to me. Bring together the elders. Gather the children and the babies who are still nursing. Let the groom leave his bedroom. Let the bride leave their marriage bed.

猶大眾人和他們的嬰孩、妻子、兒女都站在耶和華面前。

夫妻不可彼此虧負，除非兩相情願，暫時分房，為要專心禱告方可；以後仍要同房，免得撒但趁着你們情不自禁，引誘你們。

對他們說：「利未人哪，當聽我說：現在你們要潔淨自己，又潔淨耶和華－你們列祖神的殿，從聖所中除去污穢之物。

又叫親近我的祭司自潔，恐怕我忽然出來擊殺他們。」

他說：「為平安來的，我是給耶和華獻祭。你們當自潔，來與我同吃祭肉。」撒母耳就使耶西和他眾子自潔，請他們來吃祭肉。

耶和華又對摩西說：「你往百姓那裏去，叫他們今天明天自潔，又叫他們洗衣服。

筵宴的日子過了，約伯打發人去叫他們自潔。他清早起來，按着他們眾人的數目獻燔祭；因為他說：「恐怕我兒子犯了罪，心中棄掉神。」約伯常常這樣行。

他對百姓說：「到第三天要預備好了。不可親近女人。」

會中有許多人尚未自潔，所以利未人為一切不潔之人宰逾越節的羊羔，使他們在耶和華面前成為聖潔。

那日，耶路撒冷必有大大的悲哀，如米吉多平原之哈達臨門的悲哀。境內一家一家地都必悲哀。大衛家，男的獨在一處，女的獨在一處。拿單家，男的獨在一處，女的獨在一處。利未家，男的獨在一處，女的獨在一處。示每家，男的獨在一處，女的獨在一處。其餘的各家，男的獨在一處，女的獨在一處。

你起來，叫百姓自潔，對他們說：『你們要自潔，預備明天，因為耶和華－以色列的神這樣說：以色列啊，你們中間有當滅的物，你們若不除掉，在仇敵面前必站立不住！』

太陽如同新郎出洞房，又如勇士歡然奔路。

你們要分定禁食的日子，宣告嚴肅會，招聚長老和國中的一切居民到耶和華－你們神的殿，向耶和華哀求。

他又使人遍告尼尼微通城，說：「王和大臣有令，人不可嘗甚麼，牲畜、牛羊不可吃草，也不可喝水。人與牲畜都當披上麻布；人要切切求告神。各人回頭離開所行的惡道，丟棄手中的強暴。

耶穌對他們說：「新郎和陪伴之人同在的時候，陪伴之人豈能哀慟呢？但日子將到，新郎要離開他們，那時候他們就要禁食。

「今日，你們的首領、族長、長老、官長、以色列的男丁，你們的妻子兒女，和營中寄居的，以及為你們劈柴挑水的人，都站在耶和華－你們的神面前，

要宰逾越節的羊羔，潔淨自己，為你們的弟兄預備了，好遵守耶和華藉摩西所吩咐的話。」

把那作贖罪祭的公山羊牽到王和會眾面前，他們就按手在其上。祭司宰了羊，將血獻在壇上作贖罪祭，為以色列眾人贖罪，因為王吩咐將燔祭和贖罪祭為以色列眾人獻上。
