也要殷勤教導你的兒女。無論你坐在家裏，走在路上，躺下，起來，都要吟誦。

這些石頭在你們中間將成為記號。日後，你們的子孫問你們說：『這些石頭對你們有甚麼意思呢？』你們就對他們說：『這是因為約旦河的水在耶和華的約櫃前中斷；約櫃過約旦河的時候，約旦河的水就中斷了。這些石頭要作以色列人永遠的紀念。』」

上帝啊，你在古時，我們列祖的日子所做的事，我們親耳聽見了，我們的列祖曾為我們述說。

對以色列人說：「日後，你們的子孫問他們的父親說：『這些石頭是甚麼意思呢？』你們就讓你們的子孫知道，說：『以色列人曾走乾地過這約旦河。』

耶和華對摩西說：「你要到法老那裏，因我使他硬着心，也使他臣僕硬着心，為要在他們中間顯出我的這些神蹟來，並要叫你將我嚴厲對付埃及的事，和在他們中間所行的神蹟，傳於兒子和孫子的耳中，好叫你們知道我是耶和華。」

這一代要對那一代頌讚你的作為，他們要傳揚你的大能。

只有活人，活人必稱謝你，像我今日稱謝你一樣。為父的，必使兒女知道你的信實。

上帝啊，我年老髮白的時候，求你不要離棄我！等我宣揚你的能力給下一代，宣揚你的大能給後世的人。
