長老居民、尚其聽之哉、我將有言、乃爾父及今所未聞也、

老者當聽、斯地之居民、尚其傾耳、將有一災、爾曹在世之日、爾祖在世之日、未有如是者、未有如是者原文作曾有如是者乎

眾祭司啊，要聽這話！以色列家啊，要留心聽！王室啊，要側耳而聽！審判將臨到你們，因你們在米斯巴如羅網，在他泊山如張開的網。

那是黑暗、陰森的日子，是密雲、烏黑的日子，如同黎明籠罩山嶺。有一隊蝗蟲，又大又強，自古以來沒有像這樣的，以後直到萬代也必沒有。

「請你詢問上代，思念他們祖先所查究的。

哀哉！那日為大，無日可比；這是雅各遭難的時刻，但他必從患難中得拯救。」

有耳的，就應當聽！」

當聽這話，雅各家的領袖，以色列家的官長啊！你們厭棄公平，在一切事上屈枉正直；

我們這裏有白髮的和年老的，比你父親還年長。

你們要使禁食的日子分別為聖，宣告嚴肅會，召集長老和這地所有的居民來到耶和華－你們神的殿，向耶和華哀求。

「那時，保佑你百姓的天使長米迦勒必站起來，並且有大艱難，自從有國以來直到此時，未曾有過這樣的事。那時，你的百姓凡記錄在冊上的，必得拯救。

「你們這些撒瑪利亞山上的巴珊母牛啊，當聽這話！你們欺負貧寒人，壓碎貧窮人，對主人說：『拿酒來，我們喝吧！』

「你去問，在你先前的時代，自從神造人在地上以來，從天這邊到天那邊，曾有過或聽過這樣的大事嗎？有哪些百姓聽見神在火中說話的聲音，像你聽見了還能存活呢？神何曾為自己嘗試從別的國中領出一國的子民來，用考驗、神蹟、奇事、戰爭、大能的手、伸出來的膀臂和大可畏的事，像耶和華－你們的神在埃及，在你們眼前為你們所做的一切事呢？這是要顯給你看，使你知道，惟有耶和華他是神，除他以外，再沒有別的了。

「愚昧無知的百姓啊，你們有眼不看，有耳不聽，現在當聽這話。

以色列人哪，當聽耶和華的話。耶和華指控這地的居民，因為在這地上無誠信，無慈愛，無人認識神；

萬民哪，你們都要聽！地和其上所有的，要留心聽！主耶和華要從他的聖殿指證你們的不是。

以色列人哪，當聽耶和華責備你們的話，責備我從埃及地領上來的全家，說：

凡有耳朵的都應當聽聖靈向眾教會所說的話。得勝的，我必將神樂園中生命樹的果子賜給他吃。』」

於是我說：雅各的領袖，以色列家的官長啊，你們要聽！你們豈不知道公平嗎？

年老的有智慧，壽高的有知識。

以色列家啊，聽我為你們所作的哀歌：

惡人為何存活，得享高壽，勢力強盛呢？

耶和華必使亞述王臨到你和你的百姓，並你的父家，自從以法蓮脫離猶大的時候，未曾有過這樣的日子。

萬民哪，你們都當聽這話！世上所有的居民，無論貴賤貧富，都當側耳而聽！

列國啊，要近前來聽！萬民哪，要側耳而聽！全地和其上所充滿的，世界和其中所出的，都應當聽！

因為那時必有大災難，自從世界的起頭直到如今，從沒有這樣的災難，將來也不會有。
