于是约沙法害怕起来，定意要寻求耶和华，就在犹大全地宣告禁食。于是犹大人集合起来，寻求耶和华的帮助；犹大各城中都有人出来寻求耶和华。

这七天你们每天都要献火祭给耶和华；第八天应当有圣会，要献火祭给耶和华，这是集会的日子，什么劳碌的工都不可作。

那时全犹大的人，连他们的婴孩、妻子和儿女，都站在耶和华面前。

从头一天直到最后一天，每天都宣读神的律法书。他们守节七天，第八天照典章有严肃会。

以色列的后裔跟所有外族人分离，然后站立，承认自己的罪过和他们列祖的罪孽。那天四分之一的时间，他们站在自己的地方，宣读耶和华他们的神的律法书；另外四分之一的时间，他们认罪和敬拜耶和华他们的神。
