在街上因酒有悲歎的聲音；一切喜樂變為昏暗；地上的歡樂歸於無有。

這地悲哀，通國的青草枯乾，要到幾時呢？因其上居民的惡行，牲畜和飛鳥都滅絕了。他們曾說：他看不見我們的結局。

葡萄樹枯乾；無花果樹衰殘。石榴樹、棕樹、蘋果樹，連田野一切的樹木也都枯乾；眾人的喜樂盡都消滅。

我命乾旱臨到地土、山岡、五穀、新酒，和油，並地上的出產、人民、牲畜，以及人手一切勞碌得來的。」

地必全然空虛，盡都荒涼；因為這話是耶和華說的。地上悲哀衰殘，世界敗落衰殘；地上居高位的人也敗落了。
