你们的气力徒然用尽；你们的地不出产，境内的树也不结果实。

“犹大悲哀，她的城镇（“城镇”原文作“城门”）衰落，人人都坐在地上悲伤痛哭；耶路撒冷的哀声上达于天。他们的显贵差派童仆去打水；童仆来到池边，却找不到水，就拿着空的器皿回来；他们失望难过，蒙着自己的头。土地干裂，因为地上没有雨水；农夫失望，都蒙着自己的头。甚至母鹿在田野生产了小鹿，也得把它丢弃，因为没有青草。野驴站在光秃的高冈上，像野狗喘着气；它们双目发呆，因为没有青草。”

谷种在土块底下朽烂，仓库荒凉，谷仓破烂被拆毁，因为五谷都枯干了。牲畜发出哀鸣，牛群到处流荡，因为没有草场给它们，羊群也同样受苦。耶和华啊！我向你呼求，因为火吞灭了旷野的草场，火焰烧尽了田间所有的树木。田野的走兽也向你发喘，因为溪水都干涸了，火吞灭了旷野的草场。

摩押肥沃的土地上不再有欢喜和快乐；我使榨酒池不再流出酒；再没有人欢呼踹酒；有人呼喊，却不是踹酒的欢呼声。

有人在街上因无酒呼喊；一切喜乐都已过去，地上的喜乐都消逝了。

这地悲哀，田野的青草都枯干，要等到几时呢？由于这地居民的恶行，走兽和飞鸟都灭绝了；因为他们说：“神看不见我们的结局。”

葡萄树枯干，无花果树衰残；石榴树、棕树、苹果树，田野所有的树木都枯干，因此欢乐从人间消失了。

我叫干旱临到大地、群山、五谷、新酒、新油、地上的出产、人畜和人手劳碌得来的一切。”

大地必完全倒空，被劫掠净尽，这话是耶和华说的。大地悲哀衰残，世界零落衰残，地上居高位的人也衰败了。
