他的尊荣岂不叫你们惧怕吗？他岂不使惊吓临到你们吗？

看哪，我不用威严恐吓你，也不用势力重压你。

谁晓得你怒气的权势？谁因着敬畏你而晓得你的愤怒呢？

惟有两件事不要向我施行，我就不躲开你的面：就是把你的手缩回，远离我身；又不使你的威严恐吓我。这样，你呼叫，我就回答；或是让我说话，你回答我。

因神降的灾祸使我恐惧，因他的威严，我什么都不能。

“惟愿我如从前的岁月，如神保护我的日子。那时他的灯照在我头上，我藉他的光行过黑暗。在我壮年的时候，神亲密的情谊临到我的帐棚中。全能者仍与我同在，我的儿女都环绕我。我的脚洗在乳酪当中；磐石为我流出油河。我出到城门，在广场安排座位，年轻人见我而回避，老年人起身站立。王子都停止说话，用手捂口；领袖静默无声，舌头贴住上膛。耳朵听见了，称我有福；眼睛看见了，就称赞我。因我拯救了哀求的困苦人和无人帮助的孤儿。将要灭亡的为我祝福，我使寡妇心中欢呼。我穿上公义，它遮蔽我；我的公平如外袍和冠冕。我作瞎子的眼，瘸子的脚。我作贫穷人的父；我不认识之人的案件，我也去查明。我打破不义之人的大牙，从他牙齿中夺走他所抢的。我说：‘我要增添我的日子如尘沙，我必死在自己家中。我的根伸展到水边，露水夜宿我的枝上。我的荣耀在我身上更新，我的弓在我手中日新。’“人听我说话而等候，为我的教导而静默。我说话之后，他们就不再说；我的言语滴在他们身上。他们等候我如等雨水，又张口如切慕春雨。我向他们微笑，他们不敢相信；他们不使我脸上的光失色。我为他们选择道路，又坐首位；我如君王在军队中居住，又如人安慰哀伤的人。”

“因此我心战兢，从原处移动。

所以我在他面前惊惶；我思想就惧怕他。
