如果你的儿女得罪了祂，祂会给他们应有的惩罚。

When your children sinned against him, he gave them over to the penalty of their sin.

宴会的日子结束后，约伯便派人召来他的儿女，为他们行洁净礼。他清早起来，为他们每个人献上燔祭，因为他想：“也许我的孩子们犯了罪，心中亵渎了上帝。”约伯常常这样做。

话音未落，又有人来报信说：“你的儿女正在长兄家吃喝的时候，忽然从旷野刮来一阵狂风，摧毁了房子四角，房子倒塌，压死了屋里所有的人，只有我一人逃脱来向你报信。”

他下面的根茎枯干，上面的枝子枯萎。他从世上销声匿迹，无人记得他的名字。他从光明中被赶入黑暗，他被逐出这个世界。他在本族中无子无孙，他所居之地无人生还。

所多玛人极其邪恶，在耶和华眼中罪恶滔天。

他的儿女毫无安宁，在城门口受欺压也无人搭救。

因为我们就要毁灭这城了。耶和华已经听见控诉这罪恶之城的声音，祂差遣我们来毁灭这城。”罗得听了就去通知他女儿的未婚夫说：“快走吧！耶和华要毁灭这城了！”可是他们却以为他是在开玩笑。天刚亮的时候，天使便催促罗得说：“起来，带着你的妻子和两个女儿离开，免得所多玛城因罪恶受惩罚的时候，你也一起被毁灭。”罗得却犹疑不决，天使便拉着罗得及其妻子和两个女儿的手出去，将他们安置在城外，因为耶和华怜悯他们。到了城外，其中一位天使说：“赶快逃！不要回头看，也不要留在平原，要往山上逃，免得你们被毁灭。”罗得说：“我主啊，请不要这样。仆人蒙你厚爱、施恩相救，但我无法逃到山上，要是这灾难追上我，我就没命了！请看，那座城离这里不远，容易跑到，又是座小城，请让我逃到那座小城活命吧！”天使回答说：“好吧，我答应你，不毁灭那座小城。你赶快逃吧，因为你还没有到那里之前，我不能动手。”从此那城便叫琐珥。罗得到达琐珥的时候，太阳已经出来了。耶和华从天上把燃烧的硫磺降在所多玛和蛾摩拉两地，毁灭了这两座城和其中的居民，包括整个平原和地上的植物。
