Why do you not pardon my offenses and forgive my sins? For I will soon lie down in the dust; you will search for me, but I will be no more.”

Why don’t you forgive the wrong things I’ve done? Why don’t you forgive me for my sins? I’ll soon lie down in the dust of my grave. You will search for me. But I’ll be gone.”

If I sin, then You mark me, And will not acquit me of my iniquity.

And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, Some to everlasting life, Some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Do not be furious, O Lord, Nor remember iniquity forever; Indeed, please look— we all are Your people!

Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it.

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

And David’s heart condemned him after he had numbered the people. So David said to the Lord,“ I have sinned greatly in what I have done; but now, I pray, O Lord, take away the iniquity of Your servant, for I have done very foolishly.”

As for man, his days are like grass; As a flower of the field, so he flourishes.

Yet he shall be brought to the grave, And a vigil kept over the tomb.The clods of the valley shall be sweet to him; Everyone shall follow him, As countless have gone before him.

Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more; Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found.

Who is a God like You, Pardoning iniquity And passing over the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His anger forever, Because He delights in mercy.He will again have compassion on us, And will subdue our iniquities. You will cast all our sins Into the depths of the sea.

who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works.

Remember, I pray, that You have made me like clay. And will You turn me into dust again?

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said,“ Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

The eye of him who sees me will see me no more; While your eyes are upon me, I shall no longer be.

If I say to corruption,‘ You are my father,’ And to the worm,‘ You are my mother and my sister,’

For now I would have lain still and been quiet, I would have been asleep; Then I would have been at rest

Take words with you, And return to the Lord. Say to Him,“ Take away all iniquity; Receive us graciously, For we will offer the sacrifices of our lips.

How many are my iniquities and sins? Make me know my transgression and my sin.Why do You hide Your face, And regard me as Your enemy?

We have transgressed and rebelled; You have not pardoned.You have covered Yourself with anger And pursued us; You have slain and not pitied.You have covered Yourself with a cloud, That prayer should not pass through.

Why do You forget us forever, And forsake us for so long a time?Turn us back to You, O Lord, and we will be restored; Renew our days as of old,Unless You have utterly rejected us, And are very angry with us!

Your dead shall live; Together with my dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing, you who dwell in dust; For your dew is like the dew of herbs, And the earth shall cast out the dead.
