爾為上主、鑒察人心、即我犯罪、何虧於爾、曷擊我、使我不樂其生。

Lord God of armies, How long will You be angry with the prayer of Your people?

For now You number my steps, You do not observe my sin.

You alone are the Lord. You have made the heavens, The heaven of heavens with all their lights, The earth and everything that is on it, The seas and everything that is in them. You give life to all of them, And the heavenly lights bow down before You.

I was at ease, but He shattered me, And He has grasped me by my neck and shaken me to pieces; He has also set me up as His target.His arrows surround me. He splits my kidneys open without mercy; He pours out my bile on the ground.He breaks through me with breach after breach; He runs at me like a warrior.

For You write bitter things against me And make me inherit the guilty deeds of my youth.

Have I covered my wrongdoings like a man, By hiding my guilt in my shirt pocket,

Is your wickedness not abundant, And is there no end to your guilty deeds?

For You will make them turn their back; You will take aim at their faces with Your bowstrings.

I am guilty, Why then should I struggle in vain?If I washed myself with snow, And cleansed my hands with lye,Then You would plunge me into the pit, And my own clothes would loathe me.
