Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said:

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silent; A fire shall devour before Him, And it shall be very tempestuous all around Him.He shall call to the heavens from above, And to the earth, that He may judge His people:

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat?

For you have not come to the mountain that may be touched and that burned with fire, and to blackness and darkness and tempest,and the sound of a trumpet and the voice of words, so that those who heard it begged that the word should not be spoken to them anymore.( For they could not endure what was commanded:“ And if so much as a beast touches the mountain, it shall be stoned or shot with an arrow.”
