Pour forth the overflowings of thine anger; And look upon every one that is proud, and abase him.

Unleash the fury of your wrath, look at all who are proud and bring them low,

Let loose your great anger. Look at those who are proud and bring them low.

Pour out the overflowings of your anger, and look on everyone who is proud and abase him.

Give vent to your anger. Let it overflow against the proud.

Pour out your raging anger; look on every proud person and humiliate him.

Let out your outbursts of anger, And look at everyone who is arrogant, and humble him.

Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and extol and honor the King of heaven; for all his works are truth, and his ways justice; and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.

The lofty looks of man shall be brought low, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and Jehovah alone shall be exalted in that day.For there shall be a day of Jehovah of hosts upon all that is proud and haughty, and upon all that is lifted up; and it shall be brought low;

Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by him.

But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:and he was driven from the sons of men, and his heart was made like the beasts’, and his dwelling was with the wild asses; he was fed with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; until he knew that the Most High God ruleth in the kingdom of men, and that he setteth up over it whomsoever he will.And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thy heart, though thou knewest all this,but hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou and thy lords, thy wives and thy concubines, have drunk wine from them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know; and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified.

For, behold, the day cometh, it burneth as a furnace; and all the proud, and all that work wickedness, shall be stubble; and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith Jehovah of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

The pride of thy heart hath deceived thee, O thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?Though thou mount on high as the eagle, and though thy nest be set among the stars, I will bring thee down from thence, saith Jehovah.

Cast forth lightning, and scatter them; Send out thine arrows, and discomfit them.

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore the scripture saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.

He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, Wrath, and indignation, and trouble, A band of angels of evil.He made a path for his anger; He spared not their soul from death, But gave their life over to the pestilence,

And the people shouted, saying, The voice of a god, and not of a man.And immediately an angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey unrighteousness, shall be wrath and indignation,tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that worketh evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek;

I say unto you, This man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; but he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to serve one another: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;

For God shall hurl at him, and not spare: He would fain flee out of his hand.

Now I know that Jehovah is greater than all gods; yea, in the thing wherein they dealt proudly against them.

For a fire is kindled in mine anger, And burneth unto the lowest Sheol, And devoureth the earth with its increase, And setteth on fire the foundations of the mountains.

Thy right hand, O Jehovah, is glorious in power, Thy right hand, O Jehovah, dasheth in pieces the enemy.

When he is about to fill his belly, God will cast the fierceness of his wrath upon him, And will rain it upon him while he is eating.

Wherefore it shall come to pass, that, when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks.For he hath said, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I have understanding: and I have removed the bounds of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures, and like a valiant man I have brought down them that sit on thrones:and my hand hath found as a nest the riches of the peoples; and as one gathereth eggs that are forsaken, have I gathered all the earth: and there was none that moved the wing, or that opened the mouth, or chirped.Shall the axe boast itself against him that heweth therewith? shall the saw magnify itself against him that wieldeth it? as if a rod should wield them that lift it up, or as if a staff should lift up him that is not wood.Therefore will the Lord, Jehovah of hosts, send among his fat ones leanness; and under his glory there shall be kindled a burning like the burning of fire.And the light of Israel will be for a fire, and his Holy One for a flame; and it will burn and devour his thorns and his briers in one day.And he will consume the glory of his forest, and of his fruitful field, both soul and body: and it shall be as when a standard- bearer fainteth.And the remnant of the trees of his forest shall be few, so that a child may write them.

Therefore he poured upon him the fierceness of his anger, and the strength of battle; and it set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.

Son of man, say unto the prince of Tyre, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Because thy heart is lifted up, and thou hast said, I am a god, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet thou art man, and not God, though thou didst set thy heart as the heart of God;—

but in very deed for this cause have I made thee to stand, to show thee my power, and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.As yet exaltest thou thyself against my people, that thou wilt not let them go?
