『冒昧試要跟你說話、你耐不住麼？但抑制着不說、誰能夠呢？

人若試與爾言、爾厭之乎、然誰能自禁不言耶、

我欲與爾言、恐爾厭聞、然不得不言、

若敢與爾言、恐爾厭煩、然誰能含忍不語乎、

“ Job, suppose someone tries to talk to you. Will that make you uneasy? I can’t keep from speaking up.

If one assay to commune with thee, wilt thou be grieved? But who can withhold himself from speaking?

Should anyone try to speak with you when you are exhausted? Yet who can keep from speaking?

For I am full of pent up words, and the spirit within me urges me on.I am like a cask of wine without a vent, like a new wineskin ready to burst!I must speak to find relief, so let me give my answers.

We cannot stop telling about everything we have seen and heard.”

But if I say I’ll never mention the Lord or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It’s like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can’t do it!

I wrote that letter in great anguish, with a troubled heart and many tears. I didn’t want to grieve you, but I wanted to let you know how much love I have for you.I am not overstating it when I say that the man who caused all the trouble hurt all of you more than he hurt me.Most of you opposed him, and that was punishment enough.

So now I am filled with the Lord’s fury. Yes, I am tired of holding it in!“ I will pour out my fury on children playing in the streets and on gatherings of young men, on husbands and wives and on those who are old and gray.

I am not sorry that I sent that severe letter to you, though I was sorry at first, for I know it was painful to you for a little while.Now I am glad I sent it, not because it hurt you, but because the pain caused you to repent and change your ways. It was the kind of sorrow God wants his people to have, so you were not harmed by us in any way.For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.
