彼輕忽邑中之喧譁、不聽驅者之叱咤、

邑眾之譁不畏、驅者之聲不顧、

輕視邑中之諠譁、不聞驅策者之聲、

It laughs at the commotion in the town; it does not hear a driver’s shout.

He scorns the tumult of the city; he hears not the shouts of the driver.

It hates the noise of the city and has no driver to shout at it.

It scoffs at the noise of the village and never hears the shouts of a driver.

He laughs at the turmoil of the city, He does not hear the shouting of the taskmaster.

He scorns the tumult of the city; He does not heed the shouts of the driver.

He scorneth the tumult of the city, Neither heareth he the shoutings of the driver.

Prisoners also enjoy peace there. They don’t hear a slave driver shouting at them anymore.

The Lord says to me,“ A powerful lion stands over its food and growls. A lot of shepherds can be brought together to drive it away. But the lion is not frightened by their shouts. It is not upset by the noise they make. In the same way, I will come down from heaven. I will fight on Mount Zion and on its hills. Nothing will drive me away. I am the Lord who rules over all.

Pharaoh’s slave drivers kept making the people work hard. They said,“ Finish the work you are required to do each day. Make the same number of bricks you made when you had straw.”The slave drivers whipped the Israelite overseers they had appointed. The slave drivers asked,“ Why haven’t you made the same number of bricks yesterday or today, just as before?”Then the Israelite overseers appealed to Pharaoh. They asked,“ Why have you treated us like this?You didn’t give us any straw. But you told us,‘ Make bricks!’ We are being whipped. But it’s the fault of your own people.”

But when they spread their feathers to run, they laugh at a horse and its rider.

Now get to work. We won’t give you any straw. But you still have to make the same number of bricks.”

‘ We have gone without food,’ they say.‘ Why haven’t you noticed it? We have made ourselves suffer. Why haven’t you paid any attention to us?’“ On the day when you fast, you do as you please. You take advantage of all your workers.
