誰為雨水開渠、誰為雷電備路、

誰沛霖雨、誰發雷電。

誰為暴雨分途歸河、誰為雷電定道、

Who cuts a channel for the torrents of rain, and a path for the thunderstorm,

Who tells the rain where it should fall? Who makes paths for the thunderstorms?

“ Who has cleft a channel for the torrents of rain and a way for the thunderbolt,

“ Who created a channel for the torrents of rain? Who laid out the path for the lightning?

Who cuts a channel for the flooding rain or clears the way for lightning,

“ Who has split open a channel for the flood, And a way for the thunderbolt,

“ Who has divided a channel for the overflowing water, Or a path for the thunderbolt,

Who hath cleft a channel for the waterflood, Or the way for the lightning of the thunder;

Who cuts a channel for the flooding rain or clears the way for lightning,

Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder;

Who carves out a channel for the heavy rains, and a path for the rumble of thunder,

When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder,

Yahweh’s voice is on the waters. The God of glory thunders, even Yahweh on many waters.Yahweh’s voice is powerful. Yahweh’s voice is full of majesty.Yahweh’s voice breaks the cedars. Yes, Yahweh breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.He makes them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young, wild ox.Yahweh’s voice strikes with flashes of lightning.Yahweh’s voice shakes the wilderness. Yahweh shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.Yahweh’s voice makes the deer calve, and strips the forests bare. In his temple everything says,“ Glory!”Yahweh sat enthroned at the Flood. Yes, Yahweh sits as King forever.

For he draws up the drops of water, which distill in rain from his vapor,which the skies pour down and which drop on man abundantly.

He sends it out under the whole sky, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.After it a voice roars. He thunders with the voice of his majesty. He doesn’t hold back anything when his voice is heard.God thunders marvelously with his voice. He does great things, which we can’t comprehend.For he says to the snow,‘ Fall on the earth,’ likewise to the shower of rain, and to the showers of his mighty rain.
