We cannot imagine the power of the Almighty; but even though he is just and righteous, he does not destroy us.

若夫全能者、我儕莫能測之、其力卓越、其義充足、不行殘虐、

全能之主、妙不可測、巨能至義、一秉大公、待人無偏、

全能之主、我儕不能測之、能力至大、公義仁慈無邊、不無故降災於人、不無故降災於人或作不與人辯論

The Almighty is beyond our reach and exalted in power; in his justice and great righteousness, he does not oppress.

We can’t reach up to the Mighty One. He is lifted high because of his power. Everything he does is fair and right. So he doesn’t crush people.

The Almighty— we cannot find him; he is great in power; justice and abundant righteousness he will not violate.

The Almighty— we cannot reach him— he is exalted in power! He will not violate justice and abundant righteousness,

The Almighty— we cannot find Him; He is exalted in power And He will not violate justice and abundant righteousness.

As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him; He is excellent in power, In judgment and abundant justice; He does not oppress.

Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: He is excellent in power; And in justice and plenteous righteousness he will not afflict.

The Almighty— we cannot reach Him— He is exalted in power! He will not oppress justice and abundant righteousness,

[ Touching] the Almighty, we cannot find him out:[ he is] excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.

As for the Almighty, we cannot attain to him! He is great in power, but justice and abundant righteousness he does not oppress.

We can’t reach the Almighty. He is exalted in power. In justice and great righteousness, he will not oppress.

He alone can never die, and he lives in light so brilliant that no human can approach him. No human eye has ever seen him, nor ever will. All honor and power to him forever! Amen.

Mighty King, lover of justice, you have established fairness. You have acted with justice and righteousness throughout Israel.

“ God is mighty, but he does not despise anyone! He is mighty in both power and understanding.

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!

For God is so wise and so mighty. Who has ever challenged him successfully?

Though he brings grief, he also shows compassion because of the greatness of his unfailing love.For he does not enjoy hurting people or causing them sorrow.

I don’t want you to die, says the Sovereign Lord. Turn back and live!

Consult together, argue your case. Get together and decide what to say. Who made these things known so long ago? What idol ever told you they would happen? Was it not I, the Lord? For there is no other God but me, a righteous God and Savior. There is none but me.

“ Do you think that I like to see wicked people die? says the Sovereign Lord. Of course not! I want them to turn from their wicked ways and live.

“ Can you solve the mysteries of God? Can you discover everything about the Almighty?

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

The Lord is king! He is robed in majesty. Indeed, the Lord is robed in majesty and armed with strength. The world stands firm and cannot be shaken.

These are just the beginning of all that he does, merely a whisper of his power. Who, then, can comprehend the thunder of his power?”

Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the ocean depths. You care for people and animals alike, O Lord.How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.

“ So teach the rest of us what to say to God. We are too ignorant to make our own arguments.

He made heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them. He keeps every promise forever.He gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry. The Lord frees the prisoners.

“ Look, God is greater than we can understand. His years cannot be counted.

You formed the mountains by your power and armed yourself with mighty strength.

“ My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”

In all their suffering he also suffered, and he personally rescued them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them. He lifted them up and carried them through all the years.

If it’s a question of strength, he’s the strong one. If it’s a matter of justice, who dares to summon him to court?

For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness.

Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

“ But true wisdom and power are found in God; counsel and understanding are his.

“ O God, you have ground me down and devastated my family.As if to prove I have sinned, you’ve reduced me to skin and bones. My gaunt flesh testifies against me.God hates me and angrily tears me apart. He snaps his teeth at me and pierces me with his eyes.People jeer and laugh at me. They slap my cheek in contempt. A mob gathers against me.God has handed me over to sinners. He has tossed me into the hands of the wicked.“ I was living quietly until he shattered me. He took me by the neck and broke me in pieces. Then he set me up as his target,and now his archers surround me. His arrows pierce me without mercy. The ground is wet with my blood.Again and again he smashes against me, charging at me like a warrior.I wear burlap to show my grief. My pride lies in the dust.My eyes are red with weeping; dark shadows circle my eyes.Yet I have done no wrong, and my prayer is pure.

And don’t let us yield to temptation, but rescue us from the evil one.

God has spoken plainly, and I have heard it many times: Power, O God, belongs to you;

Does God twist justice? Does the Almighty twist what is right?

Say to God,“ How awesome are your deeds! Your enemies cringe before your mighty power.

I have not mastered human wisdom, nor do I know the Holy One.Who but God goes up to heaven and comes back down? Who holds the wind in his fists? Who wraps up the oceans in his cloak? Who has created the whole wide world? What is his name— and his son’s name? Tell me if you know!
