“ Tell us what we should say to him; we cannot draw up our case because of our darkness.

“ Job, tell us what we should say to God. We can’t prepare our case because our minds are dark.

Teach us what we shall say to him; we cannot draw up our case because of darkness.

“ So teach the rest of us what to say to God. We are too ignorant to make our own arguments.

Teach us what we should say to him; we cannot prepare our case because of our darkness.

Teach us what we are to say to Him; We cannot present our case because of darkness.

“ Teach us what we should say to Him, For we can prepare nothing because of the darkness.

Teach us what we shall say unto him; For we cannot set our speech in order by reason of darkness.

Teach us what we should say to Him; we cannot prepare our case because of our darkness.

Teach us what we shall say unto him;[ for] we cannot order[ our speech] by reason of darkness.

Teach us what we will tell him, for we can’t make our case by reason of darkness.

I also have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Who does not know such things as these?

I was ignorant and lacked insight; I was as senseless as an animal before you.

“ But wisdom– where does it come from? Where is the place of understanding?For it has been hidden from the eyes of every living creature, and from the birds of the sky it has been concealed.

For now we see in a mirror indirectly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known.

Surely I am more brutish than any other human being, and I do not have human understanding;I have not learned wisdom, nor do I have knowledge of the Holy One.Who has ascended into heaven, and then descended? Who has gathered up the winds in his fists? Who has bound up the waters in his cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is his son’s name?– if you know!

When I tried to make sense of this, it was troubling to me.Then I entered the precincts of God’s temple, and understood the destiny of the wicked.

Your knowledge is beyond my comprehension; it is so far beyond me, I am unable to fathom it.

“ Who is this who darkens counsel with words without knowledge?

Dear friends, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that whenever it is revealed we will be like him, because we will see him just as he is.

you asked,‘ Who is this who darkens counsel without knowledge?’ But I have declared without understanding things too wonderful for me to know.

“ Listen now to my argument, and be attentive to my lips’ contentions.

But I wish to speak to the Almighty, and I desire to argue my case with God.

Indeed, these are but the outer fringes of his ways! How faint is the whisper we hear of him! But who can understand the thunder of his power?”
