I will judge each of you in keeping with what you have done,” announces the Lord and King.“ Turn away from your sins! Turn away from all the evil things you have done. Then sin will not bring you down.Get rid of all the evil things you have done. Let me give you a new heart and a new spirit. Then you will be faithful to me. Why should you die, people of Israel?

It was good for me to suffer. That’s what helped me to understand your orders.

Lord, blessed is the person you correct. Blessed is the person you teach from your law.

So the Lord brought the army commanders of the king of Assyria against them. They took Manasseh as a prisoner. They put a hook in his nose. They put him in bronze chains. And they took him to Babylon.When Manasseh was in trouble, he asked the Lord his God to help him. He made himself very humble in the sight of the God of his people.Manasseh prayed to him. When he did, the Lord felt sorry for him. He answered his prayer. The Lord brought Manasseh back to Jerusalem and his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord is God.

The Lord was angry with me because of what you did. He promised that he would never let me go across the Jordan River. He promised that I would never enter that good land. It’s the land the Lord your God is giving you as your own.I’ll die here in this land. I won’t go across the Jordan. But you are about to cross over it. You will take that good land as your own.

God, show that they are guilty. Let their evil plans bring them down. Send them away because of their many sins. They have refused to obey you.

Before I went through suffering, I went down the wrong path. But now I obey your word.
