『我主請聽！你在我們中間是一位有神威的族長；你只管在我們最好的墳地埋葬你死了的親人；我們必沒有一個人不容你在他的墳地埋葬你死了的親人。』

他的牲畜有羊七千隻、駱駝三千隻，牛五百對、母驢五百匹；他還有很多僕婢；這人在東方人之中至為昌大。

壞消息他也不懼怕；他的心堅定，倚靠着永恆主。他的心鎮定，總不懼怕，直到他看見他敵人遭報。他布施、他給予貧窮；他的仁義存立到永遠；他的角光榮地高舉。惡人看見便惱恨；他必咬牙切齒，而身歸熔化；惡人的心願終於滅沒。

你可以掌管我的家；我的人民都必須聽從你所吩咐的；惟獨在王位上，我才比你大。』

永恆主的眼目在全地上看來看去；凡以純全之心向他的人、他就顯大權能去幫助他。在這一點上你幹了糊塗事了！從今以後、你總有戰事了。』

這樣、永恆主賜福與約伯的晚年就勝過他起初的：他有羊一萬四千隻，駱駝六千隻，牛一千對，母驢一千匹。
