Look, He scatters his light upon it, And covers the depths of the sea.

閃光普照其四周、覆以海底、

電閃穹蒼、覆幬海底、

天主使光明普照其上、且以覆海底、

See how he scatters his lightning about him, bathing the depths of the sea.

See how he scatters his lightning around him! He lights up the deepest parts of the ocean.

“ Can you lift up your voice to the clouds, That an abundance of water may cover you?Can you send out lightnings, that they may go, And say to you,‘ Here we are!’?

Pharaoh’s chariots and his army He has cast into the sea; His chosen captains also are drowned in the Red Sea.The depths have covered them; They sank to the bottom like a stone.

He made darkness His secret place; His canopy around Him was dark waters And thick clouds of the skies.From the brightness before Him, His thick clouds passed with hailstones and coals of fire.The Lord thundered from heaven, And the Most High uttered His voice, Hailstones and coals of fire.He sent out His arrows and scattered the foe, Lightnings in abundance, and He vanquished them.Then the channels of the sea were seen, The foundations of the world were uncovered At Your rebuke, O Lord, At the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.

“ Who has divided a channel for the overflowing water, Or a path for the thunderbolt,

You who laid the foundations of the earth, So that it should not be moved forever,You covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters stood above the mountains.At Your rebuke they fled; At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away.They went up over the mountains; They went down into the valleys, To the place which You founded for them.You have set a boundary that they may not pass over, That they may not return to cover the earth.

So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.

For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day.

Then God said,“ Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear”; and it was so.

“ Or who shut in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and issued from the womb;When I made the clouds its garment, And thick darkness its swaddling band;When I fixed My limit for it, And set bars and doors;When I said,‘ This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop!’

Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained.
