天主使光明普照其上、且以覆海底、

See how he scatters his lightning about him, bathing the depths of the sea.

See how he scatters his lightning around him! He lights up the deepest parts of the ocean.

Behold, he scatters his lightning about him and covers the roots of the sea.

Can you raise your voice to the clouds so that a flood of water covers you?Can you send out lightning bolts, and they go? Will they say to you,‘ Here we are’?

The chariots of Pharaoh and his army he has thrown into the sea, and his chosen officers were drowned in the Red Sea.The depths have covered them, they went down to the bottom like a stone.

Who carves out a channel for the heavy rains, and a path for the rumble of thunder,

He established the earth on its foundations; it will never be upended.The watery deep covered it like a garment; the waters reached above the mountains.Your shout made the waters retreat; at the sound of your thunderous voice they hurried off–as the mountains rose up, and the valleys went down– to the place you appointed for them.You set up a boundary for them that they could not cross, so that they would not cover the earth again.

So the Israelites went through the middle of the sea on dry ground, the water forming a wall for them on their right and on their left.

For just like the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of Man be in his day.

God said,“ Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place and let dry ground appear.” It was so.

“ Who shut up the sea with doors when it burst forth, coming out of the womb,when I made the storm clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band,when I prescribed its limits, and set in place its bolts and doors,when I said,‘ To here you may come and no farther, here your proud waves will be confined’?

The water returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen and all the army of Pharaoh that was coming after the Israelites into the sea– not so much as one of them survived!
