I get my knowledge from afar; I will ascribe justice to my Maker.

I get my knowledge from far away. I’ll announce that the God who made me is fair.

I will get my knowledge from afar and ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

I will present profound arguments for the righteousness of my Creator.

The LORD is righteous in all his ways and faithful in all his acts.

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

For Job has declared,“ I am righteous, yet God has deprived me of justice.

So he got up and went. There was an Ethiopian man, a eunuch and high official of Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was in charge of her entire treasury. He had come to worship in Jerusalemand was sitting in his chariot on his way home, reading the prophet Isaiah aloud.The Spirit told Philip,“ Go and join that chariot.”When Philip ran up to it, he heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said,“ Do you understand what you’re reading?”“ How can I,” he said,“ unless someone guides me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.Now the Scripture passage he was reading was this: He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb is silent before its shearer, so he does not open his mouth.In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who will describe his generation? For his life is taken from the earth.The eunuch said to Philip,“ I ask you, who is the prophet saying this about— himself or someone else?”Philip proceeded to tell him the good news about Jesus, beginning with that Scripture.As they were traveling down the road, they came to some water. The eunuch said,“ Look, there’s water. What would keep me from being baptized?”

But the righteousness that comes from faith speaks like this: Do not say in your heart,“ Who will go up to heaven?” that is, to bring Christ downor,“ Who will go down into the abyss?” that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.On the contrary, what does it say? The message is near you, in your mouth and in your heart. This is the message of faith that we proclaim:

But where can wisdom be found, and where is understanding located?No one can know its value, since it cannot be found in the land of the living.

You will be righteous, LORD, even if I bring a case against you. Yet, I wish to contend with you: Why does the way of the wicked prosper? Why do all the treacherous live at ease?

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of King Herod, wise men from the east arrived in Jerusalem,saying,“ Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star at its rising and have come to worship him.”

The Almighty— we cannot reach him— he is exalted in power! He will not violate justice and abundant righteousness,

Lord, righteousness belongs to you, but this day public shame belongs to us: the men of Judah, the residents of Jerusalem, and all Israel— those who are near and those who are far, in all the countries where you have banished them because of the disloyalty they have shown toward you.

So the LORD kept the disaster in mind and brought it on us, for the LORD our God is righteous in all he has done. But we have not obeyed him.

God presented him as the mercy seat by his blood, through faith, to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his restraint God passed over the sins previously committed.God presented him to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so that he would be just and justify the one who has faith in Jesus.

Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding. It is impossible for God to do wrong, and for the Almighty to act unjustly.For he repays a person according to his deeds, and he gives him what his conduct deserves.Indeed, it is true that God does not act wickedly and the Almighty does not pervert justice.
