No one can tell him what to do, or say to him,‘ You have done wrong.’

誰定其道、孰能謂之曰、爾所行非義、

獨斷獨行、誰能議之哉。

孰能示其當行之道、孰能對之曰、主所行不義、

Who has prescribed his ways for him, or said to him,‘ You have done wrong’?

Who has told him what he can do? Who has said to him,‘ You have done what is wrong’?

Who has prescribed for him his way, or who can say,‘ You have done wrong’?

Who has appointed his way for him, and who has declared,“ You have done wrong”?

Who has appointed Him His way, And who has said,‘ You have done wrong’?

Who has assigned Him His way, Or who has said,‘ You have done wrong’?

Who hath enjoined him his way? Or who can say, Thou hast wrought unrighteousness?

Who has appointed His way for Him, and who has declared,“ You have done wrong”?

Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?

Who has prescribed his ways for him? Or said to him,‘ You have done what is wicked’?

Who has prescribed his way for him? Or who can say,‘ You have committed unrighteousness?’

For,“ Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.

Does God twist justice? Does the Almighty twist what is right?

Who is able to advise the Spirit of the Lord? Who knows enough to give him advice or teach him?Has the Lord ever needed anyone’s advice? Does he need instruction about what is good? Did someone teach him what is right or show him the path of justice?

Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.

For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice?

But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.

“ Listen to me, you who have understanding. Everyone knows that God doesn’t sin! The Almighty can do no wrong.

“ But,” some might say,“ our sinfulness serves a good purpose, for it helps people see how righteous God is. Isn’t it unfair, then, for him to punish us?”( This is merely a human point of view.)

Did someone else put the world in his care? Who set the whole world in place?If God were to take back his spirit and withdraw his breath,all life would cease, and humanity would turn again to dust.“ Now listen to me if you are wise. Pay attention to what I say.Could God govern if he hated justice? Are you going to condemn the almighty judge?For he says to kings,‘ You are wicked,’ and to nobles,‘ You are unjust.’He doesn’t care how great a person may be, and he pays no more attention to the rich than to the poor. He made them all.In a moment they die. In the middle of the night they pass away; the mighty are removed without human hand.“ For God watches how people live; he sees everything they do.No darkness is thick enough to hide the wicked from his eyes.We don’t set the time when we will come before God in judgment.He brings the mighty to ruin without asking anyone, and he sets up others in their place.He knows what they do, and in the night he overturns and destroys them.He strikes them down because they are wicked, doing it openly for all to see.For they turned away from following him. They have no respect for any of his ways.They cause the poor to cry out, catching God’s attention. He hears the cries of the needy.But if he chooses to remain quiet, who can criticize him? When he hides his face, no one can find him, whether an individual or a nation.He prevents the godless from ruling so they cannot be a snare to the people.“ Why don’t people say to God,‘ I have sinned, but I will sin no more’?Or‘ I don’t know what evil I have done— tell me. If I have done wrong, I will stop at once’?“ Must God tailor his justice to your demands? But you have rejected him! The choice is yours, not mine. Go ahead, share your wisdom with us.

“ Will you discredit my justice and condemn me just to prove you are right?

Are we saying, then, that God was unfair? Of course not!
