“ Do you think it is right for you to claim,‘ I am righteous before God’?

“你以为有理，或以为你的公义胜于神的公义，

“你以为这话有理，说：‘我在上帝面前是公义的。’

“你以为这话有理，说：‘我在神面前是公义的。’

“你在上帝面前自以为义，你认为这合理吗？

“你说：‘我在神面前更显为义’，你自以为这话有理吗？

你以為有理，或以為你的公義勝於神的公義，

「你以為這話有理，說：『我在上帝面前是公義的。』

「你以為這話有理，說：『我在神面前是公義的。』

「你在上帝面前自以為義，你認為這合理嗎？

“你說：‘我在神面前更顯為義’，你自以為這話有理嗎？

『你以為這樣說有理，你才說：「我的正義勝於上帝」；

爾以為有理、自謂我之義、愈於上帝之義乎、

爾於上帝前、自稱為義、爾又言、雖不犯罪、亦無所裨、斯言也、豈合乎理。

爾於天主前、自稱為義、或作爾言我義於天主又言我不犯罪亦何所裨、較犯罪有何所益、爾以為此言合乎理乎、

“ Do you think this is just? You say,‘ I am in the right, not God.’

“ Job, do you think it’s fair for you to say,‘ I am the one who is right, not God’?

“ Do you think this to be just? Do you say,‘ It is my right before God,’

Do you think it is just when you say,“ I am righteous before God”?

“ Do you think this is in accordance with justice? Do you say,‘ My righteousness is more than God’s’?

“ Do you think this is right? Do you say,‘ My righteousness is more than God’s’?

Thinkest thou this to be thy right, Or sayest thou, My righteousness is more than God’s,

Do you think it is just when you say,“ I am righteous before God”?

Thinkest thou this to be right,[ that] thou saidst, My righteousness[ is] more than God’s?

“ Do you think this to be just: when you say,‘ My right before God.’

“ Do you think this to be your right, or do you say,‘ My righteousness is more than God’s,’

And I tell you this, you must give an account on judgment day for every idle word you speak.The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.”

For he attacks me with a storm and repeatedly wounds me without cause.

But it is God who has wronged me, capturing me in his net.“ I cry out,‘ Help!’ but no one answers me. I protest, but there is no justice.

“ Will you discredit my justice and condemn me just to prove you are right?

Yet I have done no wrong, and my prayer is pure.

“‘ You wicked servant!’ the king roared.‘ Your own words condemn you. If you knew that I’m a hard man who takes what isn’t mine and harvests crops I didn’t plant,

Although you know I am not guilty, no one can rescue me from your hands.

“ I vow by the living God, who has taken away my rights, by the Almighty who has embittered my soul—As long as I live, while I have breath from God,my lips will speak no evil, and my tongue will speak no lies.I will never concede that you are right; I will defend my integrity until I die.I will maintain my innocence without wavering. My conscience is clear for as long as I live.

For Job also said,‘ I am innocent, but God has taken away my rights.
