雖因惡人之兇暴而號呼、天主亦不應允、或作彼雖號呼天主不應允因惡人驕傲

He does not answer when people cry out because of the arrogance of the wicked.

He doesn’t answer sinful people when they cry out to him. That’s because they are so proud.

There they cry out, but he does not answer, because of the pride of evil men.

And when they cry out, God does not answer because of their pride.

Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease,[ and] with the contempt of the proud.

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee,[ and] consider thee,[ saying, Is] this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;[ That] made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof;[ that] opened not the house of his prisoners?

They cried, but[ there was] none to save[ them: even] unto the LORD, but he answered them not.

Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them[ as] a garment.Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.They are corrupt, and speak wickedly[ concerning] oppression: they speak loftily.
