「難道滔滔不絕就無人反駁？難道嘮嘮叨叨就證明有理？你喋喋不休，人們豈能緘默不言？你嘲笑譏諷，豈不該有人使你羞愧？

「你在上帝面前自以為義，你認為這合理嗎？你還說，『這與我何干？我不犯罪又有何益處？』

「我的哀訴至今充滿苦楚，祂的責罰使我呻吟不止。

「你要這樣絮叨到何時？你的話猶如陣陣狂風。上帝豈會歪曲正義？全能者豈會顛倒是非？

約伯啊，這盡是虛言，是一大堆無知的話。」

耶和華對約伯說完這些話後，就對提幔人以利法說：「你和你的兩個朋友令我憤怒，因為你們對我的議論不如我僕人約伯說的有理。
