Should God then reward you on your terms, when you refuse to repent? You must decide, not I; so tell me what you know.

He repays people according to their deeds. He treats people as they deserve.

“ What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying,‘ Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’ Does the pot exclaim,‘ How clumsy can you be?’

You may tear out your hair in anger, but will that destroy the earth? Will it make the rocks tremble?

Let them no longer fool themselves by trusting in empty riches, for emptiness will be their only reward.

No, don’t say that. Who are you, a mere human being, to argue with God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who created it,“ Why have you made me like this?”

Who has given me anything that I need to pay back? Everything under heaven is mine.

And who has given him so much that he needs to pay it back?

He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward.

If the righteous are rewarded here on earth, what will happen to wicked sinners?

If he snatches someone in death, who can stop him? Who dares to ask,‘ What are you doing?’

For the message God delivered through angels has always stood firm, and every violation of the law and every act of disobedience was punished.

In his justice he will pay back those who persecute you.And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted and also for us when the Lord Jesus appears from heaven. He will come with his mighty angels,

‘ Those people worked only one hour, and yet you’ve paid them just as much as you paid us who worked all day in the scorching heat.’“ He answered one of them,‘ Friend, I haven’t been unfair! Didn’t you agree to work all day for the usual wage?Take your money and go. I wanted to pay this last worker the same as you.Is it against the law for me to do what I want with my money? Should you be jealous because I am kind to others?’

Answer me, if you can; make your case and take your stand.

But if his descendants forsake my instructions and fail to obey my regulations,if they do not obey my decrees and fail to keep my commands,then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their disobedience with beating.
