Should God then reward you on your terms, when you refuse to repent? You must decide, not I; so tell me what you know.

But you refuse to turn away from your sins. So God won’t treat you the way you want to be treated. You must decide, Job. I can’t do it for you. So tell me what you know.

Will he then make repayment to suit you, because you reject it? For you must choose, and not I; therefore declare what you know.

“ Must God tailor his justice to your demands? But you have rejected him! The choice is yours, not mine. Go ahead, share your wisdom with us.

For he repays a person for his work, and according to the conduct of a person, he causes the consequences to find him.

One who argues with his creator is in grave danger, one who is like a mere shard among the other shards on the ground! The clay should not say to the potter,“ What in the world are you doing? Your work lacks skill!”

You who tear yourself to pieces in your anger, will the earth be abandoned for your sake? Or will a rock be moved from its place?

Let him not trust in what is worthless, deceiving himself; for worthlessness will be his reward.

But who indeed are you– a mere human being– to talk back to God? Does what is molded say to the molder,“ Why have you made me like this?”

( Who has confronted me that I should repay? Everything under heaven belongs to me!)

Or who has first given to God, that God needs to repay him?

He regarded abuse suffered for Christ to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for his eyes were fixed on the reward.

If the righteous are recompensed on earth, how much more the wicked sinner!

If he snatches away, who can turn him back? Who dares to say to him,‘ What are you doing?’

For if the message spoken through angels proved to be so firm that every violation or disobedience received its just penalty,

For it is right for God to repay with affliction those who afflict you,and to you who are being afflicted to give rest together with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels.

saying,‘ These last fellows worked one hour, and you have made them equal to us who bore the hardship and burning heat of the day.’And the landowner replied to one of them,‘ Friend, I am not treating you unfairly. Didn’t you agree with me to work for the standard wage?Take what is yours and go. I want to give to this last man the same as I gave to you.Am I not permitted to do what I want with what belongs to me? Or are you envious because I am generous?’
