“ For has anyone said to God,‘ I have endured punishment; I will not offend anymore;

“有谁对上帝说，‘我受了管教，不会再犯罪；

有人对神说：‘我忍受了管教，不再有败坏的行为了，

有誰對神說：我受了責罰，不再犯罪；

「有誰對上帝說：『我受了責罰，必不再犯罪；

「有誰對神說：『我受了責罰，必不再犯罪；

「有誰對上帝說，『我受了管教，不會再犯罪；

有人對神說：‘我忍受了管教，不再有敗壞的行為了，

『有誰對上帝說過：「我擔受了責罰，我不再有敗壞的行為了。

有誰謂上帝曰、我既受責、不再犯罪、

爾宜告上帝曰、我既受爾譴責、必不再蹈前愆、

爾當告天主曰、我既受責、不敢再犯、

“ Suppose someone says to God,‘ I am guilty but will offend no more.

“ Someone might say to God,‘ I’m guilty of sinning, but I won’t do it anymore.

“ For has anyone said to God,‘ I have borne punishment; I will not offend any more;

“ Why don’t people say to God,‘ I have sinned, but I will sin no more’?

Suppose someone says to God,“ I have endured my punishment; I will no longer act wickedly.

“ For has anyone said to God,‘ I have borne chastening; I will offend no more;

For hath any said unto God, I have borne chastisement, I will not offend any more:

Suppose someone says to God,“ I have endured my punishment; I will no longer act wickedly.

Surely it is meet to be said unto God, I have borne[ chastisement], I will not offend[ any more]:

“ Has anyone said to God,‘ I have endured chastisement, but I will not act wrongly any more.

“ For has any said to God,‘ I am guilty, but I will not offend any more.

He will sing to people and say,‘ I have sinned and perverted what is right, And it is not proper for me.

I will endure the rage of the Lord Because I have sinned against Him, Until He pleads my case and executes justice for me. He will bring me out to the light, And I will look at His righteousness.

Therefore I retract, And I repent, sitting on dust and ashes.”

Then Job answered the Lord and said,“ Behold, I am insignificant; what can I say in response to You? I put my hand on my mouth.I have spoken once, and I will not reply; Or twice, and I will add nothing more.”

However, You are righteous in everything that has happened to us; For You have dealt faithfully, but we have acted wickedly.For our kings, our leaders, our priests, and our fathers have not kept Your Law Or paid attention to Your commandments and Your admonitions with which You have admonished them.But they, in their own kingdom, With Your great goodness which You gave them, With the broad and rich land which You placed before them, Did not serve You or turn from their evil deeds.Behold, we are slaves today, And as for the land which You gave to our fathers to eat its fruit and its bounty, Behold, we are slaves on it.And its abundant produce is for the kings Whom You have set over us because of our sins; They also rule over our bodies And over our cattle as they please, So we are in great distress.“ Now because of all this We are making an agreement in writing; And on the sealed document are the names of our leaders, our Levites, and our priests.”

“ Righteousness belongs to You, Lord, but to us open shame, as it is this day— to the men of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and all Israel, those who are nearby and those who are far away in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of their unfaithful deeds which they have committed against You.Open shame belongs to us, Lord, to our kings, our leaders, and our fathers, because we have sinned against You.To the Lord our God belong compassion and forgiveness, because we have rebelled against Him;and we have not obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in His teachings which He set before us through His servants the prophets.Indeed, all Israel has violated Your Law and turned aside, not obeying Your voice; so the curse has gushed forth on us, along with the oath which is written in the Law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him.So He has confirmed His words which He had spoken against us and against our rulers who ruled us, to bring on us great disaster; for under the entire heaven there has not been done anything like what was done in Jerusalem.Just as it is written in the Law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us; yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our wrongdoing and giving attention to Your truth.So the Lord has kept the disaster in store and brought it on us; for the Lord our God is righteous with respect to all His deeds which He has done, but we have not obeyed His voice.

And after everything that has come upon us for our evil deeds and our great guilt, since You our God have spared us by inflicting less than our wrongdoing deserves, and have given us such an escaped remnant as this,shall we again break Your commandments and intermarry with the peoples who commit these abominations? Would You not be angry with us to the point of destruction, until there would be no remnant nor any who would escape?

I have certainly heard Ephraim grieving,‘ You have disciplined me, and I was corrected, Like an untrained calf; Bring me back that I may be restored, For You are the Lord my God.For after I turned back, I repented; And after I was instructed, I slapped my thigh; I was ashamed and also humiliated Because I bore the shame of my youth.’

I also was acting with hostility against them, to bring them into the land of their enemies— or if their uncircumcised heart is humbled so that they then make amends for their wrongdoing,
