He strikes them for their wickedness, in a place where people can see,

因其行惡、擊之於眾前。

彼乃惡人、天主明責之、為眾所觀、

He punishes them for their wickedness where everyone can see them,

He punishes them for the sins they commit. He does it where everyone can see them.

He strikes them for their wickedness in a place for all to see,

He strikes them down because they are wicked, doing it openly for all to see.

In full view of the public, he strikes them for their wickedness,

He strikes them like the wicked In a public place,

He strikes them as wicked men In the open sight of others,

He striketh them as wicked men In the open sight of others;

In full view of the public, He strikes them for their wickedness,

He striketh them as wicked men in the open sight of others;

He strikes them as wicked men in the open sight of others;

The sins of some people are obvious, going before them into judgment, but for others, they show up later.

Those guilty of sin must be rebuked before all, as a warning to the rest.

Then the kings of the earth who committed immoral acts with her and lived in sensual luxury with her will weep and wail for her when they see the smoke from the fire that burns her up.They will stand a long way off because they are afraid of her torment, and will say,“ Woe, woe, O great city, Babylon the powerful city! For in a single hour your doom has come!”

This is what the LORD says:‘ I am about to bring disaster on you from inside your own household! Right before your eyes I will take your wives and hand them over to your companion. He will have sexual relations with your wives in broad daylight!Although you have acted in secret, I will do this thing before all Israel, and in broad daylight.’”

( Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you saints and apostles and prophets, for God has pronounced judgment against her on your behalf!)

Then all the men of his city must stone him to death. In this way you will purge out wickedness from among you, and all Israel will hear about it and be afraid.

Instead, you must kill him without fail! Your own hand must be the first to strike him, and then the hands of the whole community.You must stone him to death because he tried to entice you away from the LORD your God, who delivered you from the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.Thus all Israel will hear and be afraid; no longer will they continue to do evil like this among you.

“ They will go out and observe the corpses of those who rebelled against me, for the maggots that eat them will not die, and the fire that consumes them will not die out. All people will find the sight abhorrent.”

The godly will rejoice when they see vengeance carried out; they will bathe their feet in the blood of the wicked.Then observers will say,“ Yes indeed, the godly are rewarded! Yes indeed, there is a God who judges in the earth!”

So the LORD saved Israel on that day from the power of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians dead on the shore of the sea.
