『啊，你真地說給我聽了；你話語的聲音我聽見了：你說：

我耳曾聞爾聲、聽爾言雲、

昔者聞爾言曰、

耳中曾聞爾言、曾聽爾聲云、

“ But you have said in my hearing— I heard the very words—

“ But I heard what you said. And here are the exact words I heard.

“ Surely you have spoken in my ears, and I have heard the sound of your words.

Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of[ thy] words,[ saying],

“ Indeed, you have said in my hearing( I heard the sound of the words!):

then shalt thou inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it be truth, and the thing certain, that such abomination is wrought in the midst of thee,

because they have wrought folly in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbors’ wives, and have spoken words in my name falsely, which I commanded them not; and I am he that knoweth, and am witness, saith Jehovah.
