I would lay out my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments.I would know with what words he would answer me, and understand what he would say to me.

Now I was paying you close attention, yet there was no one proving Job wrong, not one of you was answering his statements!

But Peter helped him up, saying,“ Stand up. I too am a mere mortal.”

When you did these things, I was silent, so you thought I was exactly like you. But now I will condemn you and state my case against you!

Job has not directed his words to me, and so I will not reply to him with your arguments.

See now, I have prepared my case; I know that I am right.

So these three men refused to answer Job further, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
