When he prays to God, he will be accepted. And God will receive him with joy and restore him to good standing.

then that person can pray to God and find favor with him, they will see God’s face and shout for joy; he will restore them to full well- being.

Then that person can pray to God and be blessed by him. They will see God’s face and shout for joy. God will make them well and happy again.

then man prays to God, and he accepts him; he sees his face with a shout of joy, and he restores to man his righteousness.

O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will be gracious if you ask for help. He will surely respond to the sound of your cries.

For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime! Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes with the morning.

I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy.Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave overtook me. I saw only trouble and sorrow.Then I called on the name of the Lord:“ Please, Lord, save me!”How kind the Lord is! How good he is! So merciful, this God of ours!The Lord protects those of childlike faith; I was facing death, and he saved me.

You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.

So take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. The Lord rewarded me for doing right; he restored me because of my innocence.

Manasseh’s prayer, the account of the way God answered him, and an account of all his sins and unfaithfulness are recorded in The Record of the Seers. It includes a list of the locations where he built pagan shrines and set up Asherah poles and idols before he humbled himself and repented.

If you receive a prophet as one who speaks for God, you will be given the same reward as a prophet. And if you receive righteous people because of their righteousness, you will be given a reward like theirs.And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.”

He repays people according to their deeds. He treats people as they deserve.

The Lord gives his own reward for doing good and for being loyal, and I refused to kill you even when the Lord placed you in my power, for you are the Lord’s anointed one.

The Lord said,“ Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now.

Praise the Lord! For he has heard my cry for mercy.

Don’t excuse yourself by saying,“ Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew. He will repay all people as their actions deserve.

Many people say,“ Who will show us better times?” Let your face smile on us, Lord.You have given me greater joy than those who have abundant harvests of grain and new wine.

They cause the poor to cry out, catching God’s attention. He hears the cries of the needy.

He said,“ I cried out to the Lord in my great trouble, and he answered me. I called to you from the land of the dead, and Lord, you heard me!You threw me into the ocean depths, and I sank down to the heart of the sea. The mighty waters engulfed me; I was buried beneath your wild and stormy waves.Then I said,‘ O Lord, you have driven me from your presence. Yet I will look once more toward your holy Temple.’“ I sank beneath the waves, and the waters closed over me. Seaweed wrapped itself around my head.I sank down to the very roots of the mountains. I was imprisoned in the earth, whose gates lock shut forever. But you, O Lord my God, snatched me from the jaws of death!As my life was slipping away, I remembered the Lord. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple.

He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward.

May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you.May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.’

“ Then you will take delight in the Almighty and look up to God.You will pray to him, and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows to him.

You have shown me the way of life, and you will fill me with the joy of your presence.’

unfailing love, O Lord, is yours. Surely you repay all people according to what they have done.

When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them.

When Hezekiah heard this, he turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord,“ Remember, O Lord, how I have always been faithful to you and have served you single mindedly, always doing what pleases you.” Then he broke down and wept bitterly.But before Isaiah had left the middle courtyard, this message came to him from the Lord:“ Go back to Hezekiah, the leader of my people. Tell him,‘ This is what the Lord, the God of your ancestor David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears. I will heal you, and three days from now you will get out of bed and go to the Temple of the Lord.

May God be merciful and bless us. May his face smile with favor on us. Interlude

Now all glory to God, who is able to keep you from falling away and will bring you with great joy into his glorious presence without a single fault.

“ He has some fatal disease,” they say.“ He will never get out of that bed!”Even my best friend, the one I trusted completely, the one who shared my food, has turned against me.Lord, have mercy on me. Make me well again, so I can pay them back!I know you are pleased with me, for you have not let my enemies triumph over me.

I pray to you, O Lord, my rock. Do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if you are silent, I might as well give up and die.Listen to my prayer for mercy as I cry out to you for help, as I lift my hands toward your holy sanctuary.

But while in deep distress, Manasseh sought the Lord his God and sincerely humbled himself before the God of his ancestors.And when he prayed, the Lord listened to him and was moved by his request. So the Lord brought Manasseh back to Jerusalem and to his kingdom. Then Manasseh finally realized that the Lord alone is God!
