“ If there is a messenger for him, A mediator, one among a thousand, To show man His uprightness,

若有一位使者伺候着他，若千位中有一位傳話者，將人該行的正當事指示他，

設有天使千中之一、與之同在、為之解釋、示人所當為者、

時有使者、才德異眾、以上帝之道明示之、

千天使中若有一天使為其人作保、以人所當為之正事明示之、

Yet if there is an angel at their side, a messenger, one out of a thousand, sent to tell them how to be upright,

“ But suppose there is an angel who will speak up for him. The angel is very special. He’s one out of a thousand. He will tell that person how to do what is right.

If there be for him an angel, a mediator, one of the thousand, to declare to man what is right for him,

“ But if an angel from heaven appears— a special messenger to intercede for a person and declare that he is upright—

If there is an angel on his side, one mediator out of a thousand, to tell a person what is right for him

“ If there is an interceding angel for him, One out of a thousand, To remind a person of what is right for him,

If there be with him an angel, An interpreter, one among a thousand, To show unto man what is right for him;

If there is an angel on his side, one mediator out of a thousand, to tell a person what is right for him

If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:

If there is an angel beside him, one mediator out of a thousand, to tell a person what constitutes his uprightness;

“ If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him;

“ Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,” Says the Lord of hosts.

Which my soul still seeks but I cannot find: One man among a thousand I have found, But a woman among all these I have not found.

Though He causes grief, Yet He will show compassion According to the multitude of His mercies.

“ The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn,To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

Then the Angel of the Lord came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said:“ I led you up from Egypt and brought you to the land of which I swore to your fathers; and I said,‘ I will never break My covenant with you.

However You are just in all that has befallen us; For You have dealt faithfully, But we have done wickedly.

Therefore the Lord has kept the disaster in mind, and brought it upon us; for the Lord our God is righteous in all the works which He does, though we have not obeyed His voice.

“ Yet you say,‘ The way of the Lord is not fair.’ Hear now, O house of Israel, is it not My way which is fair, and your ways which are not fair?When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity, and dies in it, it is because of the iniquity which he has done that he dies.Again, when a wicked man turns away from the wickedness which he committed, and does what is lawful and right, he preserves himself alive.Because he considers and turns away from all the transgressions which he committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged.But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

Surely God will never do wickedly, Nor will the Almighty pervert justice.

Although you say you do not see Him, Yet justice is before Him, and you must wait for Him.

That He would show you the secrets of wisdom! For they would double your prudence. Know therefore that God exacts from you Less than your iniquity deserves.

“ Therefore listen to me, you men of understanding: Far be it from God to do wickedness, And from the Almighty to commit iniquity.

As for the Almighty, we cannot find Him; He is excellent in power, In judgment and abundant justice; He does not oppress.

Why should a living man complain, A man for the punishment of his sins?Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord;Let us lift our hearts and hands To God in heaven.

If one wished to contend with Him, He could not answer Him one time out of a thousand.

Then Haggai, the LORD’s messenger, spoke the LORD’s message to the people, saying,“ I am with you, says the Lord.”

Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O Lord, And teach out of Your law,

I will fetch my knowledge from afar; I will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

And if they are bound in fetters, Held in the cords of affliction,Then He tells them their work and their transgressions— That they have acted defiantly.He also opens their ear to instruction, And commands that they turn from iniquity.If they obey and serve Him, They shall spend their days in prosperity, And their years in pleasures.But if they do not obey, They shall perish by the sword, And they shall die without knowledge.“ But the hypocrites in heart store up wrath; They do not cry for help when He binds them.

“ For the lips of a priest should keep knowledge, And people should seek the law from his mouth; For he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.

Teach me what I do not see; If I have done iniquity, I will do no more’?

Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not.They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons:“ My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.”If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees,

I know, O Lord, that Your judgments are right, And that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.

And the Lord God of their fathers sent warnings to them by His messengers, rising up early and sending them, because He had compassion on His people and on His dwelling place.But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy.

So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said,“ Do you understand what you are reading?”

For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,
