If there be for him an angel, a mediator, one of the thousand, to declare to man what is right for him,

若有一位使者伺候着他，若千位中有一位傳話者，將人該行的正當事指示他，

設有天使千中之一、與之同在、為之解釋、示人所當為者、

時有使者、才德異眾、以上帝之道明示之、

千天使中若有一天使為其人作保、以人所當為之正事明示之、

Yet if there is an angel at their side, a messenger, one out of a thousand, sent to tell them how to be upright,

“ But suppose there is an angel who will speak up for him. The angel is very special. He’s one out of a thousand. He will tell that person how to do what is right.

“ But if an angel from heaven appears— a special messenger to intercede for a person and declare that he is upright—

If there is an angel on his side, one mediator out of a thousand, to tell a person what is right for him

“ If there is an interceding angel for him, One out of a thousand, To remind a person of what is right for him,

“ If there is a messenger for him, A mediator, one among a thousand, To show man His uprightness,

If there be with him an angel, An interpreter, one among a thousand, To show unto man what is right for him;

If there is an angel on his side, one mediator out of a thousand, to tell a person what is right for him

If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:

If there is an angel beside him, one mediator out of a thousand, to tell a person what constitutes his uprightness;

“ If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him;

“ Behold, I send my messenger, and he will prepare the way before me. And the Lord whom you seek will suddenly come to his temple; and the messenger of the covenant in whom you delight, behold, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts.

which my soul has sought repeatedly, but I have not found. One man among a thousand I found, but a woman among all these I have not found.

but, though he cause grief, he will have compassion according to the abundance of his steadfast love;

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound;to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn;to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.

Now the angel of the Lord went up from Gilgal to Bochim. And he said,“ I brought you up from Egypt and brought you into the land that I swore to give to your fathers. I said,‘ I will never break my covenant with you,

Yet you have been righteous in all that has come upon us, for you have dealt faithfully and we have acted wickedly.

Therefore the Lord has kept ready the calamity and has brought it upon us, for the Lord our God is righteous in all the works that he has done, and we have not obeyed his voice.

“ Yet you say,‘ The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?When a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die.Again, when a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life.Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

That is why many of you are weak and ill, and some have died.But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged.But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world.

Of a truth, God will not do wickedly, and the Almighty will not pervert justice.

How much less when you say that you do not see him, that the case is before him, and you are waiting for him!

and that he would tell you the secrets of wisdom! For he is manifold in understanding. Know then that God exacts of you less than your guilt deserves.

“ Therefore, hear me, you men of understanding: far be it from God that he should do wickedness, and from the Almighty that he should do wrong.

The Almighty— we cannot find him; he is great in power; justice and abundant righteousness he will not violate.

Why should a living man complain, a man, about the punishment of his sins?Let us test and examine our ways, and return to the Lord!Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven:

If one wished to contend with him, one could not answer him once in a thousand times.

Then Haggai, the messenger of the Lord, spoke to the people with the Lord’s message,“ I am with you, declares the Lord.”

Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O Lord, and whom you teach out of your law,

I will get my knowledge from afar and ascribe righteousness to my Maker.

And if they are bound in chains and caught in the cords of affliction,then he declares to them their work and their transgressions, that they are behaving arrogantly.He opens their ears to instruction and commands that they return from iniquity.If they listen and serve him, they complete their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasantness.But if they do not listen, they perish by the sword and die without knowledge.“ The godless in heart cherish anger; they do not cry for help when he binds them.

For the lips of a priest should guard knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth, for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts.

teach me what I do not see; if I have done iniquity, I will do it no more’?

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?“ My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him.For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.”It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live?For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, that we may share his holiness.For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees,

I know, O Lord, that your rules are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me.

The Lord, the God of their fathers, sent persistently to them by his messengers, because he had compassion on his people and on his dwelling place.But they kept mocking the messengers of God, despising his words and scoffing at his prophets, until the wrath of the Lord rose against his people, until there was no remedy.

So Philip ran to him and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet and asked,“ Do you understand what you are reading?”

Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry
