He wants to stop them from going down into the grave. He doesn’t want them to be killed by swords.

还是你藐视他丰富的恩慈、宽容、忍耐，不知道他的恩慈是领你悔改吗？

他不信自己能从黑暗中转回；他被刀剑看守。

神救赎我的性命免入地府，我的生命也必见光。’

主没有迟延他的应许，就如有人以为他是迟延，其实他是宽容你们，不愿一人沉沦，而是人人都来悔改。

并且要以我们主的容忍作为你们得救的机会，就如我们所亲爱的弟兄保罗，照着所赐给他的智慧写信给你们。

狱警一醒，看见监门全开，以为囚犯已经逃走，就拔刀要自杀。保罗大声呼叫：“不要伤害自己！我们都在这里。”狱警叫人拿灯来，就冲进去，战战兢兢地俯伏在保罗和西拉面前。然后狱警领他们出来，说：“二位先生，我必须做什么才可以得救？”他们说：“当信主耶稣，你和你一家都必得救。”他们就把主的道讲给他和他全家的人听。当夜，就在那时候，狱警把他们带去，洗他们的伤；他和他所有的家人立刻都受了洗。

神就施恩给他，说：‘要救赎他免得下入地府，我已经得了赎价。

为要从地府救回人的性命，使他被生命之光照耀。

他的性命临近地府，他的生命挨近灭命者。
