So that He may turn a person away from bad conduct, And keep a man from pride;

好叫人不从自己的谋算，不行骄傲的事，

好叫人转离自己的行为，叫壮士远离骄傲，

好叫人转离自己的行为，叫壮士远离骄傲，

使他们离开罪恶，不再骄傲，

好叫人离开自己的恶行，又叫人与骄傲隔绝，

好叫人不從自己的謀算，不行驕傲的事，

好叫人轉離自己的行為，叫壯士遠離驕傲，

好叫人轉離自己的行為，叫壯士遠離驕傲，

使他們離開罪惡，不再驕傲，

好叫人離開自己的惡行，又叫人與驕傲隔絕，

好叫人轉離惡行，又好割掉人的驕傲；

使人改其意志、遏其驕矜、

使人改過、去其驕心、

使人改其惡行、去其驕心、

to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride,

He warns them in order to turn them away from sinning. He wants to keep them from being proud.

that he may turn man aside from his deed and conceal pride from a man;

He makes them turn from doing wrong; he keeps them from pride.

in order to turn a person from his actions and suppress the pride of a person.

In order to turn man from his deed, And conceal pride from man,

That he may withdraw man from his purpose, And hide pride from man;

in order to turn a person from his actions and suppress his pride.

That he may withdraw man[ from his] purpose, and hide pride from man.

to turn a person from his sin, and to cover a person’s pride.

that he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.

Therefore, behold, I will obstruct her way with thorns, And I will build a stone wall against her so that she cannot find her paths.

Because of the extraordinary greatness of the revelations, for this reason, to keep me from exalting myself, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to torment me— to keep me from exalting myself!

In the wilderness it was He who fed you manna which your fathers did not know, in order to humble you and in order to put you to the test, to do good for you in the end.

My days are past, my plans are torn apart, The wishes of my heart.

The proud look of humanity will be brought low, And the arrogance of people will be humbled; And the Lord alone will be exalted on that day.

and asked for letters from him to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them in shackles to Jerusalem.Now as he was traveling, it happened that he was approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him;and he fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him,“ Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”And he said,“ Who are You, Lord?” And He said,“ I am Jesus whom you are persecuting,but get up and enter the city, and it will be told to you what you must do.”

The king began speaking and was saying,‘ Is this not Babylon the great, which I myself have built as a royal residence by the might of my power and for the honor of my majesty?’While the word was still in the king’s mouth, a voice came from heaven, saying,‘ King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is declared: sovereignty has been removed from you,and you will be driven away from mankind, and your dwelling place will be with the animals of the field. You will be given grass to eat like cattle, and seven periods of time will pass over you until you recognize that the Most High is ruler over the realm of mankind and bestows it on whomever He wishes.’Immediately the word concerning Nebuchadnezzar was fulfilled; and he was driven away from mankind and began eating grass like cattle, and his body was drenched with the dew of heaven until his hair had grown like eagles’ feathers and his nails like birds’ claws.“ But at the end of that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom endures from generation to generation.All the inhabitants of the earth are of no account, But He does according to His will among the army of heaven And among the inhabitants of earth; And no one can fend off His hand Or say to Him,‘ What have You done?’At that time my reason returned to me. And my majesty and splendor were restored to me for the honor of my kingdom, and my state counselors and my nobles began seeking me out; so I was reestablished in my sovereignty, and surpassing greatness was added to me.Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise, exalt, and honor the King of heaven, for all His works are true and His ways just; and He is able to humble those who walk in pride.”

And while he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him a message, saying,“ See that you have nothing to do with that righteous Man; for last night I suffered greatly in a dream because of Him.”

Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.

Then God said to him in the dream,“ Yes, I know that in the integrity of your heart you have done this, and I also kept you from sinning against Me; therefore I did not let you touch her.

The Lord of armies has planned it, to defile the pride of all beauty, To despise all the honored of the earth.

But Hezekiah did nothing in return for the benefit he received, because his heart was proud; therefore wrath came upon him and upon Judah and Jerusalem.
