Behold,[ in] this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.

「看哪，你這話無理，我要回答你，因上帝比世人更大。

「看哪，你這話無理，我要回答你，因神比世人更大。

「我來答覆你，你的話沒有道理，因為上帝比世人大。

我要告訴你，你這話錯了，因為神比世人大。

『啊，你這話不對，我要回答你：上帝比世人大。

我則應之曰、爾言此、不義矣、蓋上帝卓越於人、

爾言實悖乎理、我不能不辨、夫上帝卓越於人、

我駁爾言謬、蓋天主超超或作大乎世人、

“ But I tell you, in this you are not right, for God is greater than any mortal.

“ But I’m telling you that you aren’t right when you talk like that. After all, God is greater than any human being.

“ Behold, in this you are not right. I will answer you, for God is greater than man.

“ But you are wrong, and I will show you why. For God is greater than any human being.

But I tell you that you are wrong in this matter, since God is greater than man.

Behold, let me respond to you, you are not right in this, For God is greater than mankind.

“ Look, in this you are not righteous. I will answer you, For God is greater than man.

Behold, I will answer thee, in this thou art not just; For God is greater than man.

But I tell you that you are wrong in this matter, since God is greater than man.

Now in this, you are not right– I answer you, for God is greater than a human being.

“ Behold, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.

[ He is] wise in heart, and mighty in strength: who hath hardened[ himself] against him, and hath prospered?

Therefore hearken unto me, ye men of understanding: far be it from God,[ that he should do] wickedness; and[ from] the Almighty,[ that he should commit] iniquity.For the work of a man shall he render unto him, and cause every man to find according to[ his] ways.Yea, surely God will not do wickedly, neither will the Almighty pervert judgment.

Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct[ him]? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.

Thinkest thou this to be right,[ that] thou saidst, My righteousness[ is] more than God’s?

O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay[ is] in the potter’s hand, so[ are] ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

Behold, God[ is] mighty, and despiseth not[ any: he is] mighty in strength[ and] wisdom.

Thou wilt say then unto me, Why doth he yet find fault? For who hath resisted his will?Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed[ it], Why hast thou made me thus?Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

Lo, these[ are] parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?

Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?

[ I said], I will answer also my part, I also will shew mine opinion.

For[ there is] not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.

Shall even he that hateth right govern? and wilt thou condemn him that is most just?[ Is it fit] to say to a king,[ Thou art] wicked?[ and] to princes,[ Ye are] ungodly?[ How much less to him] that accepteth not the persons of princes, nor regardeth the rich more than the poor? for they all[ are] the work of his hands.

For he will not lay upon man more[ than right]; that he should enter into judgment with God.

Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal?
