But Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, became very angry with Job for justifying himself rather than God.

But Elihu the Buzite was very angry with Job. That’s because Job said he himself was right instead of God. Elihu was the son of Barakel. He was from the family of Ram.

Then Elihu son of Barakel the Buzite, of the clan of Ram, became angry. He was angry because Job refused to admit that he had sinned and that God was right in punishing him.

“ Do you think this to be just? Do you say,‘ It is my right before God,’

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,

And he looked around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, and said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

For zeal for your house has consumed me, and the reproaches of those who reproach you have fallen on me.

For Job has said,‘ I am in the right, and God has taken away my right;in spite of my right I am counted a liar; my wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.’

Does it seem good to you to oppress, to despise the work of your hands and favor the designs of the wicked?

Shall one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn him who is righteous and mighty,who says to a king,‘ Worthless one,’ and to nobles,‘ Wicked man,’

You have turned cruel to me; with the might of your hand you persecute me.
